About THE CRISIS THERAPY - DRUMMER NEEDED!! CONTACT NOW.
The Crisis Therapy are a five piece band based on the Gold Coast. Combining elements of speed metal, grindcore and hard rock, together with a no bullshit attitude, The Crisis Therapy have become one of the most brutal, yet dynamic bands on the Australian metal scene. Featuring members/ex-members from metal and hardcore acts such as The Berzerker, Lynchmada, Mudstick, Traction and Soul Terra. Think along the lines of a mesh of Hatebreed, Napalm Death and Meshuggah, and you're in the ballpark.

One serving of metal therapy coming up
Just as the Gold Coast’s Motormoth are a breath of fresh air in the somewhat stale local and national stoner and hard rock scene, The Crisis Therapy are placing themselves well amongst the ranks of the local (and potentially the national and maybe the international) metal scene as well with their crushing debut You Might As Well Take Me Too… which features seven thrashing tracks of mayhemic metal. They feature amongst their ranks ex members of Lynchmada, Mudstick, Traction and Soul Terra and collectively the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
War Whores starts off with a quote by skateboarding wonder kid Mark “Gator” Rogowski from about 1985, several years before he wound up in prison for the 1991 murder of Jessica Bergsten. A drum roll leads into an off timed alternate picked riff and vocalist Ben Lysaght’s death like scream of “Waaaaaaaaarrrr” and it is obvious these guys mean business. The lyrics spit venom throughout and the music is matched perfectly. Watch out for the melodic and catchy as all hell breakdown at 2:14 into the track - brilliant and not out of place one iota. With a very Napalm Death sounding intro, An Issue Of Time kicks with it’s slightly off beat feel before it launches into a more traditional thrash based section behind some quality lead guitar work.
Victimise has a distinct Obituary feel to it initially but that comparison is soon shed as it takes on its own life and the quite disjoint sounding into to Fighting Darkness is only a taste of things to come as it moves into a more current sounding metalcore type feel, and I don’t mean that in a bad way either. The Pantera-esque feel of Pride will have even the most anti-death metal fan moshing along. The Slayer is more in line with traditional thrash metal but it features a fantastically catchy chorus riff whilst Uppercut feels just like the name suggests with the jarring feel to its intro and verse as it ends an album leaving the listener wondering what the license plate was of the truck that just hit them.
You Might As Well Take Me Too… is an outstanding debut from this Gold Coast quintet which shows their potential to become a big name and a force to be reckoned with amongst the ranks of the Australian metal scene. I can’t wait to hear more from them!
