Crisptones Band were awarded Adult Comtempory Band of 2007 by the Los Angeles Music Awards. Crisptones played live at the event located at the Music Box Theatre in Hollywood, Ca. Nov. 29, 2007. Dugie (Mark) was just awarded Singer, Song Writer of 2007 from the Dallas Song Writers Association, and also was a finalist in the Durango Song Writing Contest of 2007 with two songs and was also a finalist in the 11th Annual 2007 Unisong International Song Writing Competition.
Mark & Robin Crisp were brought up in Visalia, California, and now live on the central coast of California.
Robin, a guitar player and co writer in the Crisptones Band, also plays lap steel, dobro, piano and most of the lead work. Robin, who’s three years older than Mark, was a gigantic musical influence on his younger brother.
” Dugie" a nick name of Mark's, he got as a kid is a guitar player and writes a lot of the songs for the Crisptones, Mark plays almost all his own guitar work and dabbles in several other instruments. Mark has two complete cd's.
With influences that include Paul McCartney, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Crosby, Stills and Nash and other current acts such as Alison Krauss, Dwight Yokum, & Tom Petty, Mark and Rob Crisp's writings are both familiar & new. Mark, at times writes songs with a sense of humor. “I’m Just Here To Make You Look Good,” and other songs he’s written are bittersweet and touching. When Mark’s mother passed away he wrote a tune “Mama’s Stew” which has already created quite a stir on Music Row. Robin, a part time backhoe operator wrote a song "Best Little Hoe In Town“ a really cool rock tune that has a funny bone to it. There are a lot of people who are thinking about what they’re going to do in life,” Mark said. “Now, more than ever we love to write. Going into the studio and coming out with a finished product is pure satisfaction.." Sharp Objects of Nashville has signed both Mark and Robin to songwriting contracts.
Mark & Robin, It was a treat to see you guys at the Clubhouse last Tuesday. Great set! I had been enjoying Marks CD, and would like to pick up the one with both of you. I plan on making the Saturday show at the Cliffs. Steve will be busy, but I’ll be going with my friend Rachel. See you then!

Not just another genre, folk rock was born as a statement—of purpose, of taste, of superiority—the baby boom’s first imprimatur, a musical mission and a personal battle cry in a divisive time of racial tension and escalating war. For a generation of philosopher dropouts and drug-inspired visionaries, it was also the best way to partake in the era’s hippest form of artistic expression, in numbers previously unknown to man.
Hey there guys! When you get a chance stop by and see my page (and leave a comment or 2 :o). People are always checking out who's who). Love always! Jen
