The Crocodile has been holding down the corner of 2nd and Blanchard since 1991, and has had more than its share of good times. Everyone from Nirvana to Yoko Ono has played the room, and there were a hell of a lot of tuna melts consumed in the cafe over the years.
After months of sitting vacant and sad, a new ownership group bought the iconic club and put it through much-needed and extensive remodel. The Crocodile reopened in March, 2009, and is back to rocking the block.
The cafe is gone, but the stage is bigger and so is the showroom. There's a new mezzanine (complete with a bar), a wall of historic posters from the past, and a gorgeous Via Tribunali pizzeria.
