“Songs written in long hand that slow the heart ... like swimming in a cold sea and shaking dry in the morning sun.”
Two years on from the release of their debut eponymous album, The Crook Family are currently recording a follow-up record with the working title Melancholics Anonymous.
Natives of Pembrokeshire, The Crook Family follow their noses ... somewhere between the weather and the rock. With new compositions including Fairy Tales and Snakes, lyrics and music are borne in a place where the tide is always an hour more of less short of high.
The song-writing is an intimate process that creates an acoustic simplicity. Blood harmonies ... and a musical sense that come from players who know each other.
“Welsh music is in rude health. These guys are one of the best of best Welsh bands.” BBC Radio Wales
“Fiver Sale and Vampires – two fully-formed classics dropped from heaven.” Alan Thompson, The Evening Show, BBC Radio Wales
“Imagination, sensitivity and songs about elephants and vampires ... what more could you possibly want? The Crook Family Album is a stunning collection of songs played with great passion, insight and wit.” BB Skone, Radio Pembrokeshire
"Save me a seat at the torch ! Excellent, that'll be a good one. sara. x"
Second this for me guys! How the hell are ya all doin'? Hope all is groovy, I bought a nice shiny new kit other month, it looks cool. Anyways take it easy, and I'd love 2 come see you guys play sometime.
Howdy doody! I see you're online - i'm listening to Vampires, getting my daily fix. Muchos love to You! We're playing Blue Rock this year, and hopefully Tenby Folk Festival too! Just waiting to hear back from the management. see you soon,
So I've worked out how to get in to see you at the Dru... now do you know how I get to see you in Pembroke and Aberystwyth?! and where did we land with a violin teacher?!!? Hope you are all well! K x
Hey! How's the weather over there? I just want to let you know that i'm coming to the UK in late May/early June to play bass with Kevin Montgomery and Tommy Allsup. Tommy played guitar with Buddy Holly, and is THE guy that flipped the coin with Ritchie Valens. I figured that with you being a musician that you would really be able to appreciate this show. Kevin made a little video at my studio last week while we were recording....check it out http://myspacetv. com/index. cfm?fuseaction=vids. individual&videoid=34589518
There are a series of shows in England and Scotland....dates are on my myspace.
We won't be doing my material, but it is a really special show, and Tommy is a true rock'n'roll legend.
Anyway, take care and hope to see you there.

Thank you so much my friends - welcome to the camp !!!!
A common love of music - what more could we ask for - well, (and I'm assuming here that we haven't got our heads stuck in the sand or up our own backsides) apart from world peace, a solution to global warming and a bit more personal wealth that is !!!
Extremely great talents u possess... Thanks for finding me and u r so welcome to look at all of the beautiful friends i have collected here..Hugs Trish
Thanks for finding some room in here for me and my banjo and whatnot. It's lovely to meet you.
