"In order to understand the music of the Cubby Creatures, you need to first understand their worldview. The boys and girl who make up the group subscribe to a fundamental life principle called the 'cubby,' which is central to their philosophy of 'revolution through inspired living.' Their mission is to disseminate this philosophy through music and produce 'cubby awareness' in all those who listen."--epitonic.com
In 1997 the Cubby Creatures first came together and identified the Cubby--a life force of sorts. While the discovery was not unique--it has been known to many different people by many different names over the course of human history--the Cubby Creatures were unique in identifying and adoring it as "the Cubby."
From the beginning, few people understood the Cubby Creatures. The Cubby Creatures and their handful of ragamuffin followers were ridiculed for their quixotic quest to enlighten the masses and bring peace to the world.
But through their music, the affable but misunderstood instrument of their creative collaboration, the Cubby Creatures attempt to achieve blissful harmony with their self-made deity, and if you listen just right you're liable to experience it for yourself.
The History
The Cubby Creatures sprang from the ripe loins of San Francisco's Mission District in 1997, becoming the musical arm of an art cult called The Cubby dedicated to an abstract higher power also called the Cubby. As if this weren't confusing enough, they also use "cubby" as an adjective... as in "that's SO cubby."
Jol (guitar, vocals) and Brian (bass, vocals) formed the group with Emily (violin), Matt (drums) and then, on a whim, Karl (clarinet). Matt left after the band's first live show, at San Francisco's Artists' Television Access, and was replaced by Jason. Bill (keyboards, guitars, vocals) joined the cast of the Cubby Creatures' 1998 rock opera The World of Tina and shortly thereafter properly joined the band. In 2001 Jol moved to New York and Karl started publishing novels, so the other four went on alone, and the band released its magnum opus to date, After the Deprogramming, in 2005.
Cubby Creatures recordings are available at many fine retail outlets, including rodentrecords.com, aquarius records, amoeba records, the itunes music store, et al.

An artistic event of techno music and video art performance in the heart of Milan, with the contribution of Box Vision And Galleria Meravigli. The location is very significant being in the historical part of Milan with its typical architecture and charm, it will be a night in which all the positive energy will be released in a city which is often closed to young people and there expressive necessities. The colors of the night and the appropriation of the city center by the youth culture will push aside the greyness and the disturbing chaos that are king during the day. We will once again get together by the "sacred fire" listening and dancing to the rhythm of the drums!

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
