The Culprits are a band from the mountaintop town of Sewanee, Tennessee. The three-man ensemble is made up of: Nick Evans, Zach Blount, and Will Evans. The Culprits can most easily be described as diverse. The tunes range in style from a tasteful rock ballad to an epic wall of sound. The lyrics are simplistically poetic and are easy to relate to. In a repetitious pop market The Culprits' first EP adds new flavor. If you have listened to music at all during the last five decades, you'll find these tunes lively, catchy, and fresh.
The guys' first EP was recorded in a small privately owned recording studio in Plymouth, PA, called Soundcloud Studios. This 2008 release, self-titled "The Culprits," features six tracks. The tracks "Only" (released as a streaming online single) and "A Pigeon Song" quickly became the most popular on the compilation. The Culprits have performed at local festivals around Middle Tennessee, college events, and other venues in and around their home town. After some initial success in promoting and performing original music The Culprits settled back down to write over 20 more original tunes through 2009.
Today, The Culprits are in the process of recording their next EP under the managing /production guidance of Warm Gun Records ( an independent label based in Nashville), whom the band plans to sign with this summer. The EP will be named Around Around and will be released and available through Warm Gun Records.
Nick Evans began his interest in music with piano at the age of six, drums at 10, and finally picked up a guitar a year later. The chief songwriter for The Culprits, he wrote "Only," "This Time Again," and many others. He believes that the melody is the most accessible part of music. He will attend Davidson College next year hoping to continue his passion with a major in music. He is influenced primarily by the greats: the powerful team of Lennon/McCartney, Dylan, and many others.
Zach started with guitar. Only after being asked to bring one to the Evans’ did he first pick up a bass. He demonstrates his playing unique and sophisticated style in Culprits' songs: “In Side” and “Different State of Mind”. No Culprits tune is complete without his line driving behind the melody.
Will began playing drums at the age of 13 after five years of playing piano and two years of guitar. Will now writes music alongside Nick as well as plays mean drums. He has contributed to songs like "State of Mine" and is co-author on "A Pigeon Song." He is heavily influenced by Stewart Copeland and Carter Beauford.

On June 14, 2010 we will be accepting submissions from artists interested in performing in front of 25 to 50 representatives from the 4 Major Recording Labels and several of the top Independent Record Labels.
This will occur over two consecutive weekends. One weekend in New York and one weekend in Los Angeles over two days that will feature 15 of the top bands selected to perform each night at one location. In doing it this way every band that performs WILL BE SEEN by ever representative attending. Unlike SXSW and other such music conferences where if you’re not at the one or two locations where all the label representatives hang out, you’ll ever be seen, and it was a complete waste of your time and money.
NO COST or FEES, other than the artist’s own travel expenses. Compete details and submission procedures shall be posted on our MySpace page June 14, 2010. WE SHALL NOT ACCEPT ANY SUBMISSIONS UNTIL THAT DATE.
And here is why we are committing a considerable amount of time and resources to this opportunity:
Sonicbids is an Artist and Promoters Worst Nightmare
Recently we began a trial usage of Sonicbids’ service for our artist and band searches.
As a result of that test it became clear that Sonicbids is all about earning money at the expense of artists looking to break through the wall that surrounds the music industry.
Based on our experiences from both the perspective of artists we are associated with seeking to benefit from opportunities offered though Sonicbids. As well as from the perspective of promoters searching for talent through Sonicbids service.

Sonicbids is an Artist and Promoters Worst Nightmare
Recently we began a trial usage of Sonicbids service for our artist and band searches.
We have concluded that Sonicbids operation is nothing more than another one of these money making SCAMS that is generating as much as $8,000,000.00 a year for Sonicbids at the expense of artists and bands paying subscription fees on top of submission fees to be considered by promoters utilizing Sonicbids services. Of which many of these Promoters are running nothing but a SCAM on artists or bands that apply.
First, you should be aware of where the money goes. For every dollar an Artist or Band pays for Sonicbids’ subscription fees, it goes directly into Sonicbids pockets. Second, the first $100.00 of every listing by a promoter, as well as 50% of all fees you pay for any listing also goes directly into the pockets of Sonicbids. This means that Sonicbids is, by our estimation, pocketing over 75% of all monies collect from unsuspecting artists and bands.
Wondering how you are doing. Drop me a line or comment sometime and let me know what's going on in your world. Much of the same on my end. Site should break quarter mil today or tomorrow.
We are seeking both male and female artists with strong and unique vocal ability, talent, and style. An artist must stand out above the crowd, have a great voice, and be available to record and tour full time.
Any artist selected will be contracted for a 52 weeks period prior to the commencement of the tour at a rate of between $650.00 and $1,200.00 per week that shall be based on their talent and potential. All travel expenses shall be provided for in addition to the weekly salary if an artist is selected.
Artist must be available to travel and perform a maximum of 7 shows per week that will consist of sets between 45 and 90 minutes in length. In some instances there will be two shows scheduled on the same day. Artist must also make themselves available for any and all rehearsals, studio recordings, promotional appearances, and photo or video shoots as part of this agreement.
There is currently a search for two types of bands for record label consideration.

However, one lead and one rhythm is acceptable), keyboard/piano, bass, and drums. Lead vocal, followed by backing vocals, in that order, is a plus as it relates to other members of the group. Average age of the band cannot exceed 28 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
2. A Modern Rock band with male lead. Must be a complete band but there are no prerequisites as it relates to the make up of the band. Average age of the band cannot exceed 23 years of age.

After review of your material, you will only be contacted if there is an interest in attending one of your shows by a label representative. As such please to not send any follow up emails regarding selections. If you were not contacted back, there was not an interest.
Thank You.
