It's going to be a monster four band pile up on highway 666 as Vultures of Venus crash into the Birmingham on Thursday the 3rd of ..heir debut LP which is now available through I-Tunes has been receiving strong support and favorable reviews from local radio RRR, PBS and Syn Fm. It will also be available in hard copy on the night. This gig is gonna be fun, fun, fun on the Smith st autobahn. Armed with big rock riffs and blazing electrified keys this is the Vultures first show since their sellout LP Launch. This is a band with a plan; and that plan is to make you do the Can Can.
Joining them on the night is Mirrorhouse Antics whos live show is a cross between the Arctic Monkeys and The Stooges. They have just released their debut album, recorded at Bakehouse by Mikey from Eddie Current Suppression Ring. Dan Webb's 60's styled Hammond infused insanity is gonna be something to look out for as well as the 'Wise Flys' : they'll make you laugh they'll make you cry, they'll make you laugh about crying.
And don't forget to look out for the crazy clown pinyada filled with burning flesh and give away fun toys for the kids. This is a B.Y.O "leotard friendly event ". So pour yourself into your favorite and come on down !!!

This Thursday night The Statics launch our new album 'Songs We Wish We Wrote' with good friends Girl Vs Ghost, Broni and Harliquin Heros.
As the name suggests, the new CD is covers disk of a bunch of bands who have inspired and influenced us over the years. Including Bugudst, Screamfeeder, Lights Out, Tiltmeter, Broni and more.

Roll up roll up, Vultures of Venus are back in town you funky disco cats. And guess what? ... their self-titled debut LP is finally here! Ten tracks of unadulterated Glampunk Electro madness! It’s unleashed on Thursday 29th of October at Bar Open on Brunswick St. It’s Bowie on steroids; it’s Marquis de Sade and Andy Warhol screaming at the moon through a home-made vocoder. The Lollyshop is open for business ! It’s going to be a huge night filled with bubble machines, strobes, psychedelic video projections and cautionary tales to tell your grandchildren. It will also feature live performances from those vixens of burlesque “the Venus Man Traps”. Support on the night comes from psych-popsters Go-Go Sapien serving up synth-infected garage with lashings of ravenous big sexy guitars. Make sure you get down early to catch the debut performance by newcomers Tusk. And most importantly we have kept the entry fee down to a very affordable – FREE ! Copies of Vultures of Venus’s LP can be scoped up for a low $10 on the night. Yee-Har space cadets !

Update on our event (Roll Up Your Sleeves for Refugees) last Friday night, July 31 09 ...
... We raised enough @ this small event alone to help fix up the water supply of the kids in the image below, Afghan refugees living outside Quetta (Pakistan), three hours from the the border of Afghanistan.
We hope you continue supporting the cause :)

I heart the JC.
I miss the JC, and vegie parma's with vegie gravy, and bowls of vegies with vegie gravy, and vegie burgers with vegie gravy! Miss you all lots, I think you've earnt a holiday Leon, there's a nice big mountain of snow just near here, and a snowboard with the name, "hempy" written on it.
hope all's going well, I've done a bit of secret stalking and its looking pretty good. Can't wait to get back and have a few "quite" jamo's. Oh yis ployze. Give me some news!!!
