Doc Magi (Dr. Michael Holt)	Nov 3 2008 11:47 PM Daily Mantra What if your happiness is simply the choice of accepting people as they are and not labeling them as right or wrong? (This would include the judgments you make of yourself as well.) If you judge someone as being wrong then you are not being open to who they are. We are always right, but that only applies to what interior criteria we are using to make this judgement. The core of who we are you might say. The challenge is to understand that this does not mean that we are right outside of our own mind, body and soul. The next time we think about judging somone else we might want to remember how it feels to have others judge us according to their standards. There is only one entity (God) that has the ability to judge in my view and I have not come face to face with it yet ;-). My God does not judge either in my opinion so judging is just left to people that feel the need to be right. Have a fantastic week and thanks for listening to my rambling. Doc Magi (Dr. Michael Holt)	Oct 19 2008 11:41 PM Daily Mantra Stopping by to say thank you. I have been down with a bug the last few days and it is nice to be back up and functioning again. This morning I had a wonderful time with around 60 seniors at a breakfast talking about how the mind works and it was fun and exciting to watch them smile and appreciate just what they have become over the years. I bet that each one of you have also some wonderful stories and memories as well. I was thinking this morning that we spend so much time talking to each other about things that really don't matter that it might be nice to talk to our friends about things that do. For instance do you remember that time you felt completely loved by someone? What was it that allowed you to feel that? Do you know what it was that your friends and family experienced that allowed them to experience it as well. Other memories to ask about might be the first time you felt like you could conquer the world? How about the first time you felt excited to do something? The first time you knew you were in love? What would you like to feel today and after you have that answer think of a time when you did and if you have never felt that way ask yourself what you would want it to feel like and create that. Well this has been one of them for me. Computer decided to act the something from the terminator series and did not like human interaction and it was like life was saying slow down and focus. So lets slow down and focus. Do you believe that we attract what we focus on? If so what have you been focusing on things you want or are you putting a lot of thought into stuff you don't want to have. Just by being more aware of what we spend our time thinking about can show us where we are heading at times. Of course you could just say we have to live in this world that the media has created for you and you have to experience everyone's pain that you see and be that martar. I am a little more selfish I guess because I like experiencing everyones joy instead. Nice thing about life is you have a choice so it is up to you. Make a list of what you are and take your time creating it. Then go back and ask yourself tomorrow is this still everything you are or are you more today. The person that limits who you are the most is you. I have found that people are more than what they give themself credit for being. We accept the idea that this is who we are and start making excuses that allow us to stay in one place. Today you are perfect and you represent who you are in all honesty and perfection. Embrace who you are and be proud of it and also realize that you will be much more as well. You are not the same person that you were 5 years ago. Tomorrow, you can be more than what you ever imagined if you allow yourself to be. The question is will you accept the learnings and use them to grow or are you comfortable being who you think you are today? Either way it is fine, because in the end you are the one that determines who and what you are. It is always in your control, even when you pretend that someone else made you do something. You still choose to have them be the excuse. I wonder what you will learn this week to allow you to become that person tomorrow. Maybe you already have learned it and started to change. Take a minute and ask yourself what state of mind do you spend most of your day in. Do you look for the positive things in life to happen or are you creating a lot of journeys down negative roads? Your body responds to the journeys that you create even when they never come true. Take a minute and think about what kind of experiences you are living that never come true and ask yourself if you would like to change that. My favorite two words are "What IF" as long as you use them to create fun and excitement. By simply asking yourself "What IF" you can allow your mental state to change. If you practice it enough you can change how you respond and react to any situation. We are blessed with so many abilities and the only limits we have are the ones the we place upon ourselves. Your life can be anything you want it to be and if you play "What IF" enough you can actually teach your subconscious what choices to make because you rehearsed them enough in your fantastic mind.
