All the members of the Dallas Brass started in elementary school bands. Our involvement in music today is a direct result of our experiences in school bands, and in particular, influences from band directors, private teachers, and performers we encountered during these years. The Dallas Brass is dedicated to giving back to young musicians.

Since its founding in 1983 by Michael Levine, the Dallas Brass has become one of America’s foremost musical ensembles. The group has established a unique blend of traditional brass instruments with a full complement of drums and percussion, which creates a performing entity of extraordinary range and musical challenges. The Dallas Brass repertoire includes classical masterpieces, Dixieland, swing, Broadway, Hollywood and patriotic music.
According to Mr. Levine, "a Dallas Brass concert is intended for the entire family. Our ideal audience has a range in ages from 5 to 95. Our goal is to entertain and enrich by playing great music, while showing our audience how much we enjoy what we do."
In addition to their solo engagements, the Dallas Brass appears with symphony orchestras nationwide. Symphonic credits include the Cincinnati Pops conducted by Erich Kunzel, New York Pops conducted by Skitch Henderson, and the Philly Pops conducted by Peter Nero. The Dallas Brass has performed at Carnegie Hall, the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, and has toured overseas to Europe and the Far East. They have shared the stage with the late Bob Hope, have performed for Presidents Gerald Ford and George H. W. Bush, have appeared on the CBS “Early Show,” and their music has been used numerous times on the television show, “The Young & The Restless.”
The ensemble has released six recordings: Debut, Dallas Brass II, A Merry Christmas with Brass, Windborne, Nutcracker and American Musical Journey. The Dallas Brass has a strong dedication to working with young musicians, frequently going into the public schools to present clinics and workshops for students of all ages.
Thank you so much for the inspiration you instilled to the kids at Northern Lebanon. I have to also confess that your performance has made me want to pull out my instrument again too (I played flute in high school and am currently trying to learn trumpet along with my son). Hey guys! Thank you so much for spending all of that time with the Memorial High School band in Eau Claire, WI. It meant a lot not only to me, but the band program as well. I hope we came close to impressing you as you have impressed us. This morning (the day after), I was standing at my bus stop as the sun was beginning to rise, while the moon neared the horizon for its disappearing act. The phrase "sunrise and moonset" came to mind and my focus shifted immediately to a musical composition that I will invent on the piano. My inspiration came from the philosophy of you six guys. There's no other way to put this, but thank you.
Hey guys! So we were planning to come see you in Hartford this Friday (25th), but we're confused by the Art Center website that says you played there on the 16th. Help!! Make
