About me:
DAM! Fest is your brain on music.

On October 11-15, 2007, DAM! Fest will host a city-wide weekend extravaganza, where highly buzzed acts will be crashing DC in the spirit of our city's historical (and now reawakened) celebration of musical diversity and community.

As a service to both the great city of Washington, DC and music fans throughout the country, our vision is to reignite the DC music scene and cultivate greater visibility on the national radar.

In the vein of San Francisco's Noise Pop Festival and the Pop Montreal Festival, DAM! Fest will showcase members of the local music community alongside national acts - bands who you might not, but should, know - bringing them all together at various rock venues in the District.

DC Rollergirls	May 3 2009 10:35 PM May Mayhem! Last month's semifinal game between Scare Force One and the Cherry Blossom Bombshells came down to a nail-biting double overtime, and the Bombshells are trying to carry that momentum to vanquish the fierce DC DemonCats, who haven't lost a game since October. This exciting season championship matchup will be the last DC Rollergirls home game until the fall, so don't miss out! In addition, fans can watch an expo matchup between Scare Force One and the River City Rollergirls of Richmond, VA, and check out Jason Leffler's #38 NASCAR showcar. Plus, in honor of Mother's Day, moms will get a gift at the door! It's tailgating season, so come early to Stadium/Armory Lot 3 and get a head start on the fun! The lot opens at 3 p.m. Tickets are available in advance through Ticketmaster (service charge applies), at the RFK Stadium box office and at the door on bout day.

This bout will decide who will challenge them - the Cherry Blossom Bombshells or last year's champs, Scare Force One. Our All-Stars are also hitting the road again this month, fresh off their victory against the Dutchland Derby Rollers. This time, they are heading south to take on the Dominion Derby Girls April 26. Hometown fans welcome! Also, we are excited to announce that DC Rollergirls merchandise is now available online! Now you can buy your favorite team or league shirts, buttons, stickers and more! Check out our new eBay Store: Dc Rollergirls Merch Be sure to watch for EXCLUSIVE AUCTION ITEMS like SIGNED TEAM PROGRAMS. Team signed program auctions will start at bout time, April 18 @ 5pm EST.
DC Rollergirls	Mar 7 2009 4:12 PM March derby madness! The DC Rollergirls again have back-to-back home and travel bouts in March. On Saturday, March 14, home teams Scare Force One and DC DemonCats will face eachother for the second time this season. The 2-1 DemonCats were victorious the last time around, but 1-1 Scare Force is itching for another win. The Cherry Blossom Bombshells will take on the Boardwalk Brawlers of Shore Points Roller Derby in an expo game. On Saturday, March 21, the DC All-Stars head to Pennsylvania again, this time to take on the Dutchland Derby Rollers in Lancaster. You can help support the All-Stars just by going to eat some chili at the Hard Times Cafe in Old Town Alexandria March 26. Make sure you bring this flier to make sure we get credited with your purchase!

Thirty artists will be showcased. Each artist will showcase 20 pieces created on found objects that will be integrated into and inspire the overall installation, bringing the gallery back into the realm of street art. These found object works will retail for $20 - $40, keeping the art accessible and true to its roots. Music by DJ Face and Special Performance by VODKA AND DONUTS Sunday. November 23rd, from Noon – 6pm At Art Whino gallery Stencil Nation book signing by Russell Howze. Presentation by Russell Howze on the Art of Stencil 2 - 3pm Panel discussion from 3 – 4pm focused on the popularity and growth of stencil art and it’s transition into fine art galleries.

Each featured artist will customize one pair of AKA Blank Tagür sneakers along with one painting on canvas. Black Cats Resident DJ Lil'e will be spinning the night away. THIS IS A FREE EVENT. It is the first tour that creatively combines gallery shows, public panel discussions and numerous murals to present the artists’ unique approach to public arts. Friday, May 23rd, 2008 – National Harbor, MD The tour will officially end with a gallery exhibit opening at Art Whino on Friday, May 23, 2008 from 6 pm to midnight. The audience will have chance to view artists’ recently finished canvases and a slideshow of photographs from the previous days of the tour.
