The Dancing Dogs draw on so many influences I can't possibly list them all but here are some .....Frank Zappa , Bob Marley , The English Beat ,Thelonious Monk , Santana , John Coltrane, Funkadelic , Babba Maal etc. etc.

Lots of horns, lots of percussion, blazing guitar, lots of vocals and harmonies, wide range of styles and genre blending.
The Dancing Dogs call New Bedford, Massachusetts home but have performed at popular clubs, festivals, and other events all around New England since 1994. The Dancing Dogs is a six-piece eclectic band that seriously jams!
Their sound is a colorful blend of both covers and original music. Their influences are quite broad and their shows are both musically and visually stimulating. The band’s uncanny flair always captivates its audience with its high energy and unique qualities that offers something for everyone.
The Dancing Dogs draw from a variety of musical styles and genres including Jazz, Funk, Soul, Fusion, Rock, Ska, World-beat, and Afro-Caribbean.

San Francisco Artist & New Bedford native Charles Xavier performs at the AHA Festival in New Bedford, Mass. on Thursday, August 14th, the Waterstreet Café in Fall River on Saturday, August 23rd, and at the as220.org in Providence on Sunday, August 24th at 8:30pm.
Several artists from the New Bedford area will perform in my band “Charles Xavier and the New Bedford Core”.
My musical guests will include Rick Britto on saxophone, Jim Robitaille on guitars, Danny Schwartz on percussion, Rob Massaud on bass, Chris Poudrier on drums, and the XMan on malletKAT Vibes/ Lead Vocals.
