Hi Guys! This is my geeky Warhammer alter ego Drax.
I figured I would keep a separate account dedicated to my expensive obsession, that way I can post army info, modelling pictures, fan-fic on here and not clutter up my real account. On minus1mod, WarhammerDiscussion, Heresy Online and many others I use the same name, so if you are on any and find me, say hi!
So I have been ‘in the hobby’ since '93. I entered the 40k universe just as Catachans were released. I am old enough to remember the shock attack gun and to have watched virus grenades take out all my Guard infantry (wasn't very good with the Guard, more or less defeated myself most of the time)
After accepting defeat with the Guard, I then moved on to Tyranids, which I was undefeated with!
Then 3rd edition came around... I got disillusioned with 40k and moved on to fantasy.
At first I flirted with a Wood Elf army before turning to the Vampire Counts. Still my most used army! Next it was on to dwarfs, though that didn’t last too long as the lure of Chaos took me and I began a Mortal army. This one is probably my largest as it numbers at about 3,000 points of just core troops. But this was just a way to get myself a Beast army as I justified needing Beast units for my existing Mortal army. Sneaky huh? Then Sigmar called and I answered. This is my smallest complete army at 1500 points (at a stretch) but fast becoming a favourite!
6 years, 5 armies and thousands of pounds later and I return to the 41st millennium for the second time.
My main 40k army is Chaos Space Marines which weighs in at well over 3.5k, however at the moment I am building up my Witch Hunters army, as the Sisters and in particular Inquisitors have always been my favourite part of the Imperium, and with the release of Codex Witch Hunters, combining the Sororitas and the rich background of the Ordo Hereticus, it was only a matter of time before I built up an army for them!
At some point I intend to begin either an Ork or a Necron Army (or possibly both). This way i will have the choice of Imperial, Heretic and Xenos armies. Kind of a geeky 40k Holy Trinity! but I also have an accidental Daemon army to put together too!
Ive now started playing WFB again now that i have found an opponent - using the Counts: The Dark Host of Abdemanechus, but soon i shall have a choice of three armies! and i ain't telling what they are!.
But I must say, I am a bit apprehensive about this. I haven’t played fantasy for a few years now and I certainly haven’t played this edition of the rules so I need to get up to speed within 6 months and on top of that I cant neglect my 40k projects to achieve this!
