For the past year The Darlingons have been building their sound up with constant rehearsals and many, many gigs in and around their home town of Taunton. The crowds have been getting stronger; the songs are becoming more recognised. In the scene-less South West these boys are gathering a loyal set of fans and it’s no wonder. From the influences of their youth such as Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles to the likes of The Temper Trap, British Sea Power and Echo & the Bunnymen, they capture energy and emotion in a widescreen setting. Their recent EP 'Glitch' was released earlier this year, and after these glowing comments (below) it's no wonder they've just ordered in a new batch... With an exciting Summer 2010 shaping up already and even more recordings in the pipeline, keep your eyes on The Darlingtons.
PRESS:
"This little tease of an EP is a balanced see-saw, with the book-ends both wonderful and intriguing, ... there is an undeniable wealth of talent here and this is definitely a band to keeps tabs on." - God Is In The TV
''Think Cinematic Orchestra tinged with Echo and the Bunnymen. Closer ‘Rainbows’ is a beautiful piece, slowly unfurling and sounding a little Joshua Tree-era U2. All very promising." - Tasty Fanzine
“This quartet overtake their peers with tight live sets and an energy rarely seen in most new bands, proving that underage talent isn’t a London-only phenomenon” – Converse Music
"They’ll remind your dad of the best bits of the 80s, and with youthful energy on their side will give us young ‘uns a new up coming band to relate to. Best of the both worlds..." - Same Teens Manchester
“…a solid togetherness, developing their craft… great songs!” - BBC Bristol Introducing
