Jeff got his first electric guitar and wrote some songs with Matt and David in the summer of 2007 playing a small show in July at the fantastic clothing store Painted Bird. At this time both Matt and David had been playing in the lovely Oakland, California based band Sweetbrier with Kevin for several years. Nothing much happened between summer and fall but around November Jeff was invited to jam with Matt, David and Kevin at their practice space. Throughout the month they played together often and with more and more songs written decided that they should all be in a band. On December 27th 2007 The Dashing Suns made their official debut at Brook's house. They played to an astounding 15 people. Kevin and David made plaster fall from the ceiling, Matt's guitar made everyone's nose bleed, in short, the show was a success. Since then they've played several shows at local venues including The Stork Club, The Uptown, Eli's Mile High Club as well as the occasional house party. Currently The Dashing Suns are in the process of recording their first E.P. which will hopefully be done by mid-summer just in time for BBQs and Bocci Ball weather.

We've got our EP release (which is a split with Phantom Float) on May 30th at the Retox Lounge in San Francisco, if you guys can make it out it should be some fun. Doors open at 8 and music starts at 9. We go on first, so if you want to get there early it would be awesome to have a drink together.
