The DC4 sound is influenced by the 70s but with the uptempo punk/rock energy of now. Kind of angry at the world but with a self-deprecating sense of humor. Throw in a little geeky sci-fi/gamer vibe and punk attitude alongside some deeply reverential hard rock roots and you get the picture. Putting true stories to music. Intense stories and intense music all based on real situations from our lives.
We evolved from a solo project by DC, the former bass player/co-singer for Boston Indie-Punk-Psych-Rock group Awakening Stick. We began existence as a side-project, sort of a creative outlet for harder edged tunes that were either too heavy or snarly for that group's happy-go-lucky sensibilities. Helping get these tunes out to live shows, Jessica (from local punk goddesses Apple Betty) is on bass/vocals. Glen Anderson plays guitar and Dan Jeffs is on drums. The vibe is amazing live and things kind of took off after the first show so we hit the studio.
