Bio
At the crossroads of East Houston and 2nd Avenue in NYC, The Dead Exs summon the gods of Blues and Rock & Roll recording LIVE in the studio with dp (David Pattillo) on electric slide guitar and vocals and Wylie Wirth on the skins. In July 2011, The Dead Exs were voted "NYC Artist of The Month" by The Deli Magazine. In just a year the band has released a full length debut, generated buzz from blogs, been licensed by Quiksilver, and received thousands of views on Youtube. Their single "More Stuff" is gaining attention at radio, and even charted Top 5 on Twitter. They have requests already to perform at CMJ in NYC, and in December will be featured artist of the month performing live at the John Varvatos CBGBs showroom in NYC. Pattillo's love for the upbeat raw recordings of Howlin' Wolf and the garage rock of The Sonics inspired him to go back to his roots and record a true to life thrashing blues record. Pattiillo is a producer with a credit list from Alanis Morrissette to the The Hold Steady, The Black Crowes to the Beastie Boys and last year produced the Reni Lane debut for Universal Motown including the song "Place For Us" which was featured on several TV shows, remixed by a handful of electronic producers, and favorited on viral sites like Hype Machine and Twitter. Wirth has toured extensively in Europe and the US with various bands such as acclaimed blues artist Will Scott, and the Warner Bros act Sweet Lizard Illtet. -

What's goin' on The Dead Exs? Your intoxicating reflection can but incorporate freely into the powerful surface of a disintegrating mirror set afloat upon a swarm of locusts. Your eyes are like spheres of crystal water filled with shimmering dreams. Entranced by the sweet harmony of your lips, I gaze beyond reason to find the oasis of your brilliant soul. Please let me hear more of that wonderful sound. The sand runes crossing your divided consciousness do speak of contemptuous monsters being slayed by flying phoenixes.

Hello The Dead Exs, A starfish's lifelong hallucinations of gelatin pools and of actuaries floating upon the foam and reciprocal ohm. The elves that play in the toasters wash their drum sticks in honey and sing strikingly colored anthems in perfect harmonious pleasure. Please let me hear more of that wonderful sound. Your tears evoke a taste as memorable as honey. You are dressed with filaments and people take pains to make you fully incandescent this evening. I sense wild vapors of sweet champagne in your larynx. Your intoxicating reflection can but incorporate freely into the powerful surface of a disintegrating mirror set afloat upon a swarm of locusts. You turn the atmosphere ablaze with currents of sweet ethylene when you smile. You ever remind me of the enigma of happy thoughts I once forgot. Your beauty is multiplexed in contemplation of your multidimensional effervescence. Your wonderfully bright soul keep the demons from torturing me. Your cleverness helps me breathe without the need of oxygen.
