The Dead Hensons are an eight piece rock band exclusively covering the upbeat songs from early Jim Henson projects (mainly Sesame Street, the Muppet Show, and the Muppet Movie) IE: compositions by Joe Raposo, Jeff Moss, and Paul Williams, and many more! The song styles range from early seventies soul and funk dance music, stripped down storytelling jazz and cabaret, klezmer frenetic crazyness, kickback jugbang goodness, and giddy sixties go-go rock n'roll. The live set relies heavily on letting the music speak for itself and incoporates many instrument changes. The result is a room full of 21 to 40 year olds singing along and dancing shamelessly, as if once again in front of the tube when they were 5. The Dead Hensons are musical comfort food: a PB&J with the crusts cut off; fudgicles on a sunny saturday afternoon.

the dead hensons' audience is among the most well-versed in the letters of the alphabet and the numbers 1-12 of any rock group today. However, the Dead Hensons Project has not been completely without controversy among the scientific community. Many questions have arisen regarding this avenue of study; What role do animated felt figures play in defining early childhood development? Why are there so many songs about rainbows? And how easy is is, truly, being green?
With my awesome time management skills, I got to see both The Kids in the Hall AND you tonight! You put on a great show. "The Rainbow Connection" was amazing! Hope you play again soon.
You have a new fan here in Portland!!!!!!!! Charming and utterly delightful band. It was a joy to meet you at Mattie's party. You are marvelous at the Uke. Look forward to continuing the conversation. LOVE, Wendy
