Here at the DS we're big believers in Chaos Theory, so some of our lesser known influences are an acorn falling from an oak tree in Ireland, circa 1312, a little gray haired gentleman forgetting his wallet in Germany, circa 1967, and finally, a Chinese peasant in 1982, whose decision to pick that final grain of rice resulted in Spyder giving a face-melting guitar solo last night. We would also like to acknowledge the influence of the Big Bang. Not for creating us and everything and all, but for setting the bar in terms of awesomeness. We intend to raise it.

Four young gentlemen were born to 8 parents. One from New York, One from Louisiana, and two from California. Through a series of fortunate events (broken bones, concussions, divorces, successful marriages, siblings, fishing trips, and dreams) the boys all found their way to Los Angeles. In 2006 the fellows came to realize that they wanted to do something more with their hands, so they built bridges, verses, and pre-choruses. They played a small show, then a bigger show, then some really medium sized shows. They released "The Ortolan" on Dim Mak Records in 2007, and toured a little, and played a lot (or a medium amount.)
In the past year and a half they've been fortunate enough to share stages with a bunch of people and drive around a bunch.
"I have the same last name as the guitar player of this band!" -wayzatabball33 on iTunes
"Their unbridled live shows garnered immediate attention, as did their music... Their debut album, The Ortolan, should now transform them from West Coast heroes into American darlings...a stunning debut, leaving one to wonder where the band can possibly go from here. 4.5 / 5 stars"
-All Music Guide (AMG)
"...the Deadly Syndrome's deliriously chaotic live show, make the quartet an irresistible remedy for isolation. In a year and a half, the Deadly Syndrome grew from club novelty to a berth on the lineup of the LA Weekly Detour Festival."
-The Los Angeles Times
"The Ortolan is hooky, well paced and damn fine from start to finish.. each vocally-charged keyboard crescendo suggests the freedom of an opened cage."
-FILTER Magazine
"...dream-songs beautifully sung by Christopher Richard over rollicky melodies of xylophone, organs, jangly guitars, and pleasantly thrashed drumkits. ...I'm so happy to have dug down to this album, to be able to recommend it hands-down, and to put it on my Best of 2007 list."

So, I am a truck driver. 2 nites ago, I am pullin a late niter, and I hear this awsome song on some colledge station (Wolves in the Garden). I proceed to pee myself with glee at the wonderous music that has touched my ears. Then, at the end of the song, no band name! So, I search the internet, and slap my mamma, here you are! How bout that? Love your stuff, wish I would have discovered it sooner!
