Band Websitewww.thedeadorchestra.co.uk
Band MembersThe group is made up of brothers Tom O’Keefe (vocals/guitars), Jim O’Keefe (drums), Ryan Wilby (bass) and Matt Schofield (keyboards and string arrangements).
InfluencesThe Dead Orchestra share a passion for epic British music and cite Elbow, Radiohead, Talk Talk, Massive Attack, early Verve and Spiritualized as key influences. The band is also heavily influenced by Motown - specifically Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and The Funk Brothers. They have a deep respect for the songwriting and soothsaying of Bill Withers.
Sounds Likewww.leedsmusicscene.net - 'Emotionally-wrenching, unique, and guaranteed to give you goosebumps' (Force of Habit EP Review). www.manchestermusic.co.uk - ‘The Dead Orchestra have bolstered their line up with a string quartet. It’s ambitious, but it works on this quite epic EP' (Force of Habit EP Review). www.leedsmusicscene.net - 'The Dead Orchestra EP is a heady, wonderfully overblown piece of pop-infused aural drama'. Vibrations - 'Beautifully arranged and orchestrated, well executed pop music. That may be even a real harp on the excellent opener Fragile Soul'.

THE TRAVELLING BAND + special guests Maghribibeat + Submaniks
THE TRAVELLING BAND
“Manchester’s great next hope? They ought to be.” Metro
Led by the gifted song-writing, impeccable playing, and honeyed harmonies of vocalists/guitarists Adam Gorman, Jo Dudderidge and Steve ‘Snaf’ Ballinger, The Travelling Band’s shimmering blend of cosmic-country-pop-folk has made them one of the most talked about artists to emerge from the Manchester music scene in many a year. They’ve recently released their debut album. Expect great things in 2009.
MAGHRIBIBEAT
Traditional Moroccan Gnawa music meets high energy acoustic driven trance. One of the very best live experiences in the U.K. Perfect festival music. Be prepared to dance and trance. Maghribibeat play REAL trance made by human beings and not computers!

he band re-creates a highly rhythmic and trance-like sound typical of North Africa, and band members have made several visits to Morocco to gather and extend their material, and during one visit performed on Moroccan national television.
SUBMANIKS
A new band from Sowerby Bridge.
Expect guitar infused power pop!

SPOKES
Spokes Announce UK Tour for November 2008

Following the release of their critically acclaimed debut, Spokes are embarking on an extensive UK headline tour scheduled for November.

The grand sound of their album People Like People Like You was compared to the likes of Arcade Fire by the music undergrounds most influential press.

Spokes will be captivating audiences with material from their forthcoming second album, sharing stages with Volcano! and Mogwai along the way.

"The emotional intensity and waves of melody heard in their songs sound like they come as naturally to the band as breathing." (Drowned In Sound)

"Spokes were next and could well be my new favourite band. This 5-piece had me absorbed from the second they stepped on stage to the second they finished. With all the vigour and natural emotion of say, a temperate Broken Social Scene, their poignant waves of unassuming melody and up-tempo variation was captivating.” (Narc Magazine)

JUFFFAGE
Juffage is a one-man-band of massive proportions from chicago, il. Fronted by area musician jeff t. smith. Performances are based around experimental live looping of drums, guitars, basses, vocals, clarinet and manipulated tapes. Jeff started juffage sometime around the time he was a fetus and has been making music under this title on and off ever since.

Influenced by everything from chopin to lightning bolt, his pieces evoke an obvious sense of uniqueness and immediacy, which leaves the listener always wondering what will happen next.

STRAYHORTS
Strayhorts have been together since 2005 and have been gigging in Halifax,Huddersfield and Bradford for about 2 years.
