The Dead Pirates Society, originally called The Right Unanswered Questions, was formed in 2006. After changing from one bad name to another, they began to build a small fan base in their town of Jefferson City, Missouri. Then, in the fashion of most bands, they were sucked into a tsunami of hardcore drugs, booze, and very low self-esteem. Having lost every last fan, they did some soul seeking. Miraculously, in seven three-hour band introspective therapy sessions, they began to realize that, despite what others think, they should keep doing what they love most. (After leaving their local rehabilitation center) The Dead Pirates Society started playing music for the love of playing music and because of it, are genuinely happy people.
EDIT: But then Jane, Korea, Ross, and Wes selfishly went to college. So I guess that's the end of that.
There are an estimated 4000 skateboarders in Franklin
County, MO and the closest skatepark is close to an hour away. I’m not
the first to point out that when a city doesn’t have a quality skatepark,
the city is the skatepark. Instead of providing areas where these
athletes can skate, cities across the county have attempted to solve this
problem by confiscating skateboards and ticketing skateboarders. We
aren’t asking anyone to talk about this problem any longer; it’s time for
action! The Crux is hosting Rock 4 Ramps, a concert series to
raise cash for ramps for our new skatepark. We are currently recruiting
bands, sponsors, event staff, and street team volunteers to join the
cause. How will you do your part to help build the skatepark we’ve been
talking about for so long? Please go to www.CruxWashington.org for more info
on joining the fight. Please ask your friends
to add the Rock 4 Ramps Myspace and Facebook pages. With your help
Franklin County, MO will finally have a place where skateboarding isn’t a
crime!
