With a distinct fusion of folk, roots, and rock, the music of the Deceptions captures the audience with mature lyrics and diverse musicality. Their music is unpredictable, yet listenable. The composition of their vast original catalog ranges from ethereal guitar-driven epics, to folk-style mandolin and accordion-driven sing-a-longs. Their sound is influenced by a number of artists including Neil Young, Wilco, Ryan Adams, the Counting Crows, The Old 97's, the Jayhawks, The Band, and Bob Dylan.
The Deceptions have been in the studio working on their latest album to be released in 2009.
