The Deep Blue Dream is one of Rochesters best new bands that only few have heard of yet but all will know soon enough. We throw anything from Blues to Funk to Reggae to Rock to Jazz to Folk and even back to Bluegrass. The band is constructed of some seriously good musicians that all just happened to come together by a miriad of wild coincidences, each bring their own variety of influences and styles together into a big ol mixing bowl to make this fresh Casserole of Soul.
The band began it's formation when Lauren and Ken who had played together on LF's first CD Into the Blue, found drummer JP via a good friend Brian "I have the answer to anything", who also threw in a good word for this local guitarist Al, who had been sitting on his ass for so long his ears were growing moss. He joined up in March of 06 thus completing the 4 piece lineup so we could go out and start gigging. About a year later Al's wife Faith after months of proding, poking, and begging sat in at practice with her saxamophone and brought us the cherry on top of our Ice Cream Sundae of Funk. (sorry I must be getting hungy) Either way now we are complete as a 5 piece, soulful, funky, blues rock jam band with irie overtones. Just think about a box of crayons with all different colors to chose from and they all taste good so comengetyosuppa now!
