New Info Regarding The Amazing Narwhal Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes Tusking At times, male narwhals rub one another's tusks together in an activity called "tusking". Recent findings showed that the tusk also plays a role in the animal's sensory perception which includes E.S.P. and limited psycho-kinetic abilities, with as many as 10 million tiny nerve endings reaching the surface of a tusk. This suggests that the tusking may simply be a way of clearing encrustations from the sensory tubules, analogous to brushing teeth. Scientists also hypothesize that the tusks may be used in an annual migration to the narwhal's home planet where it aides in identification during the role call process expediting a quick return to earth before anyone notices.
