Sydney four-piece The Deer Republic brings glamorous kaleidoscopic sounds of the big city packaged tightly into their indie rock attaché.
An epiphany, common playgrounds and decanters filled with soft amber hues inevitably led to the creation of the band. Once past projects had run their course it seemed only natural the lads ended up in a studio working on material with each their own disposition.
In 2009, the band established themselves in the heart of Sydney’s indie live scene and early demo’s found their way onto the airwaves thanks to heavy support from FBi. Prior to any official release The Deer Republic were among the likes of The Flaming Lips, Bloc Party and MGMT to play the main stage at Splendour In The Grass 2009.
Fresh from recording what will be the bands debut with acclaimed producer, Paul Mckercher (Eskimo Joe/Sarah Blasko/You Am I) the lads packed their bags and headed to New York to master with Chris Gehringer (Dandy Warhols, The Phenomenal Handclap Band, Architecture In Helsinki, Chris Cornell) of Sterling Sound.
The Deer Republic will return to Australia in November for a residency at Sydney’s Oxford Arts Factory and to begin their assault on Australia’s airwaves.
