Sydney four-piece The Deer Republic brings glamorous kaleidoscopic sounds of the big city packaged tightly into their indie rock attaché.
In 2009, the band established themselves in the heart of Sydney’s indie live scene and early demo’s found their way onto the airwaves thanks to heavy support from FBi. Prior to any official release The Deer Republic were among the likes of The Flaming Lips, Bloc Party and MGMT to play the main stage at Splendour In The Grass 2009.
Fresh from recording what will be the bands debut with acclaimed producer, Paul Mckercher (Eskimo Joe/Sarah Blasko/You Am I) the lads packed their bags and headed to New York to master with Chris Gehringer (Dandy Warhols, The Phenomenal Handclap Band, Architecture In Helsinki, Chris Cornell) of Sterling Sound.
The Deer Republic returned to Australia in November for a residency at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory and for the release of their debut single Need To Know to a packed house and has just been added to FBi’s playlist.
