THE DEVIL CAME ON HORSEBACK
A FILM BY ANNIE SUNDBERG AND RICKI STERN
A Break Thru Films Production in Association with Global Grassroots and Three Generations
THE DEVIL CAME ON HORSEBACK will bring forth and expose the violence and tragedy of the genocide taking place in Darfur as seen through the eyes of an American witness.
Using more than a thousand uncompromising and exclusive photographs taken by former US Marine Captain Brian Steidle during his role as a military observer with the African Union, THE DEVIL CAME ON HORSEBACK propels the viewer through the tragic impact of an Arab government bent on destroying its black African citizens. As an official military observer, Steidle had access to parts of the country that no journalist could penetrate. He was unprepared for what he would witness and experience, including being fired upon, taken hostage, and being unable to intervene to save the lives of young children.
Ultimately frustrated by the inaction of the international community, Steidle resigned and returned to the US to expose the images and stories of lives systematically destroyed. Haunted by what he has seen and the backlash against his advocacy efforts, Brian traveled to the refugee camps of Chad to reconnect with survivors of the violence he witnessed.
This compelling film bears witness to unmentionable atrocities while celebrating the courage of a refugee community desperately trying to survive and poses the question: Why has the West not taken more urgent action to stop genocide this time?
Directed, written and produced by award winning filmmakers Annie Sundberg and Ricki Stern, THE DEVIL CAME ON HORSEBACK is also produced by Gretchen Wallace and Jane Wells.
Thanks for the add and I'm humbly looking forward to seeing the film...and I will definitely promote it to my friends and family and who ever else. Thanks and God Bless (:*
I saw "The Devil Came On Horseback" today, your truly excellent documentary film about the genocide in Darfur. It is about so much more than the events in one region of the world. It is about what we have become as a species, both what is inspirational about us and hopeless. The world is not as it is because of the few, it is as it is because of the many. If anything is going to change, each of us must change. Thank YOU for making a difference.
I have been praying for the Darfurians for years. My last speech was on them. I tried to make an image for the people in my classes. Your movie is a God send. Now I can put faces to my convictions. I have friends that just left to be missionaries there. Thank you for such a deep look in to the reality of the tragedy that is happening. Peace to you and God bless you for your commitment.

its about time someone did something about darfur. drives me fucking insane to see us simply ignore that much suffering while we chace "terrorists" in the middle east. thank you so much for steping up to the plate for all of us.
I can hardly wait to see this film. I wrote a letter to my Oregon Senator 7 yrs ago about the plight in Sudan, very upset. The Ismamists were literally hanging Sudanese Christians on crosses and keeping them in slavery, sometimes selling their freedom for $30 a person, because the Koran says it's ok to crucify Jews and Christians. The Senator sent me a personal reply with a very lengthy list of ways U.S. were then working on aiding and other ideas that need to go through world organizations and our government. BTW, check out left side of my page I have Mike MacIntoshes daily devo from few days ago on it how Jesus called Judas friend after the infamous kiss of death. That's heavy duty. God bless you on your effort to get the film to the masses! In Christ, Michael
