My name's Tim (or Skippy) and this is my myspace for all my solo recordings, rough demos and experiments. Whatever goes really. I've played guitar for over 10 years, recently started singing and songwriting and even more recently started learning blues harp. I am more of an electric guitar player but currently lacking a drummer to form an electric gigging band so have been swayed more and more towards acoustic guitar since I've been over here in England. I am enjoying the chance to hone my singing further and feel (and hopefully sound) like I'm progressing more every day, though I think I still have a lot to learn.
I'm from Wollongong, NSW, in Australia. Though I have been living in the UK in Staffordshire since Sep '07 as a working holiday and expanding my musical horizons along the way. Living new experiences everyday and appreciating the joys of travelling, which I hope to do a LOT more of now that I've got the bug.
I live with my Girlfriend, our 2 'landlords', 2 shih-tzu dogs and lots of guitars. We live in a small market town which is surprisingly crammed full of talented musicians, good venues to play, fascinating history and just general goodness. Surrounded by stunning scenery there's not much more I could want. Keeps the inspiration and good times flowing.
I will be coming back home to Wollongong around Sep '09 and hope to up my musical momentum a litte more. Will be bringing my girlfriend/personal bass player back with me and hope to quickly find a drummer to get a band going ASAP and get out playing and having fun wherever possible. Hopefully do some traveling around while we're at it.
Mostly gonna be blues up here since that is my passion, any kind of blues; acoustic, electric, harp, delta, chicago, blues/rock.. If it's bluesy it's safe to assume I love it. I guess there will be the odd folk or rock or electric jam song too slipped in for good measure.
