Thanks to Erik (INFAME) and n3tv.it for this lovely video!
The Dialekt firmly believe in that old saying, "Contentment is the enemy of invention." Which is why four different people from London, Wales, Swabia and Seattle moved to Berlin, one of Europe's poorest and coldest cities, to make music. Being perverse is more important than being comfortable. Or warm. Everything slows down in the cold - water, libidos, atoms. Everything apart from the desire to make great music.
Live, The Dialekt deploy a neat 'diamond formation' on stage, ensuring there are no gaps through which their unique brand of unnecessarily catchy synth-laden guitar pop can escape. The rhythm section is tighter than a gnat's chuff, if the gnat was also reading a Condoleeza Rice lingerie catalogue. The lyrics sit perfectly on a line between laugh-out-loud funny and contemplatively beautiful. But most of all, whilst embracing their influences as if they were your groovy, weed-smoking uncle, The Dialekt sound different. Fresh. Forward looking. You get the idea. It's music that the German phrase "earworm" was invented for.
So turn up the stereo and get ready to smile. The Dialekt have suffered for your enjoyment.
Hi strange group of foreign german squatters, Nice noises you make! hope to get over to hear you at some point due to the unfortunate association i have with your hairball keyman. take care guys
Hi everybody! Here is the 1st episode of Cibi Alterati for 2008. This time we cook Lemon Tagliatelle, a very simple recipe. This episode is full of surprises and is as usual very funny, plus it is in English!!! Enjoy!

Hi hmm should have really explained myself. We did actaully go to the same school, but I was a lot younger- so you're forgiven for having no idea who i am.
Also I did use to live in Berlin & Eva Mcmanus told me you lived there too..& I thought I saw you once- panoramabar circa 2005- could it have been you..??
Well..so now we're friends. Super! x
You're right about defining myself with reference to people I don't like. I couldn't think of what to write and since they are annoying me A LOT of late, I just wrote about them. I'll change it soon. Sorry I'll be missing yet another of your gigs. Hope it goes well.
Ah, you see Barnaby, I managed to add you eventually, if not a little belated!
I hope you're doing a gig in March when I'll be visiting your fair city?
Also, if you want us to play you on my radio show, I'd be happy to, love the tracks on the site, just need a mp3 or cd version to make sure it sounds spot on.
Tom, you numbskull. I was referring to Pancake...under me in the comments section. I hope all is well down under. I love Sydney. If you get the chance to hit up Goodbar, I believe you will find the best hipop music in Sydney there. See you soon man!
hey guys, i havent heard from any of you since i sent out the website mail. i didnt really sent out a bill, you know that right;-)anyway, you should post the link: http://www.thedialekt.com
Thankfully not. It was "I Love Lucy", a friend of my cousin's. Much sweeter. I've actually deleted Justin as a friend. His music sucked worse than his Mum in 9th grade.
Hey Barnaby! I just saw you left me a comment...I so rarely use myspace it's so bad...oh well. Anyway, good tunes! So very brit pop indeed. Berlin was fantastic..thanks again for the tour it was a highlight! Hope you're well, all the best.
