The debut CD from the Dirt Road Gypsies is now available at CDBaby.com!
The concept is timeless. Combine a really cool bunch of guys that want to make awesome rockin' country music, combined with some alt country, hair metal, and good ol' ass kickin' southern rock thrown in for good measure.
The Dirt Road Gypsies have a plan, and that plan is to never leave the dance floor empty. In the short span of a year they have become one of the busiest and most requested bands in the DFW Metroplex. That in itself should be proof of their commitment to providing everyone a good time.
Like all puzzles, it takes many pieces to complete a picture, and building a band is no different. Founding member and rhythm guitarist Ralph Mosqueda had wanted to form a band for many years, and with urging of some close friends he finally made his move. The first step was enlisting his longtime friend and teacher Johnny Davidson for lead guitar, harmony and lead vocals. Next in line was a bass player, and in came Nate Ozuna, also bringing strong harmony and lead vocals. If you’re going to keep the people dancing you have to have a solid drummer, enter the picture, Eric Katz. Add the final member, Rick Hinton, a multi-instrumentalist with versatile and memorable lead vocals, and you have that perfect fit.
All of the members of DRG bring a wealth of life experiences that have a strong influence on the direction of the band. With a full schedule for the remainder of 2009, things are on course. New original music is just around the corner, giving their fans even more to look forward too. So with that said, sit back.... no scratch that... get up, and enjoy The Dirt Road Gypsies.
