  • Bio

Originally forming in around August 2006, 'The Distrakted' began as the brain child of Jim Manneh and Phil Tingle who wanted to show Manchester that the next scene was not Indie and belonged to Punk that once rocked England so well. ..After deciding they wanted to form a Hardcore Punk band, Jim and Phil set about recruiting other members that shared their vision. After a few miss-trials of members with Rhythm Guitarists, Bassists and Vocalists they finally found a basist that was not meant to be. Althoght she could play the songs, there was still something missing. After a night on the ale, one Jonathan Tallents sent some samples of his vocal abality and was offered a trial as singer. After only one practice with him he was offered the position as frontman, which he accepted as soon as was offered. All seemed well, they had a full line up and a name, which became, 'The Irate Assailants' but all was not to last... ..After a Halloween party at one members cracks began to show within one member, and was evident to the rest that all was not right. Jim, Jonny and Phil knew that Kate was not right for the band, and so politely asked her to leave, which she did not take well. The 3 remaning members that night came up with a name that would stick with their career. That name would be..... ..'THE DISTRAKTED'.. ..After frequent practices and song writing they had enough material to hit the road, but they were still missing a bassist. After numerous tryouts for one, they finally found a suitable member who not only fint in well with the band, but was a decent person. That man was John Burns... ..For at least a year 'The Distrakted' played live shows wherever they could, but someting was still missing. After a year of discussion they decided they needed a rhythm guitarist. When tryouts did not work, they found that the man they were looking for was right under their nose. Rowan Thewlis was a house mate of Phils and had been to their first official gig. After a few tryouts he was offered the position, which he accepted... ..The current line up was working fine, but in 2009 both John and Rowan decided to leave for personal reasons and thus the search began for a new Bassist and Rhythm Guitarist. Luckily a good friend from The CRUX helped out with live shows so they continued to play live shows until new members could be found... ..Tom West then arrived and impressed the band with his bass playing skills, having previously played in others bands, so was offered the role of bassist. The search for a Rhythm Guitarist was still lacking so the group decided to stay as a four piece for the time being... ..Musically the band began to evolve, and 2010 a New 3 Track CD was recorded which gained glowing reviews from many different places from the UK, Europe and even the United States. Not long after this the search for another guitarist was over and found in James Glenn who fit in the band on a personal and musical level and so was given the job... ..Since then they have been dominating and kicking arse with numerous bands, such as The Plight, Outl4w, The Kirkz, Raised by Drunks recieving praise all the while. They are still ready to grab the world by the throat and choke the terrible musical taste out of it... ..To get in contact with us, for booking or whatever, e-mail us at the.distrakted@hotmail.co.uk.. ............ ....Myspace Layouts.. / ..Black.. / ..Hot Comments.. / ..Image Hosting.. ..
