5 piece blues rock combo The DN5 formed early 2007 in Manchester, UK. Influenced in their writing by The Rolling Stones, Gram Parsons, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Faces and Primal Scream, The DN5 are working to bring a taste of 70s delta hung-up blues home to Manchester.
Steve Mack is rhythm guitarist and engine room behind the music, complimented wonderfully by soaring lead guitar from Daniel Wilson. Greg Royle and Dan Whitelaw provide the spine for the sound, leaving on vocals Robert Butler. Rob’s voice rolls into every inch of a venue with raw and absolute authenticity.
After forming the 5 on a basis of country, rock n roll and blues, Steve, Dan, Greg, Rob and Whitelaw have now found their own sound, producing rock n roll with greater attitude and bravado. Their original crowd pleasers of Farewell Laura-Lee and Sugar Shack still take the occasional bow, but they now produce a more edgy rock n roll with flair and bite to the sound. Whitelaw is let off the leash, and with his new found freedom, produces solid and driving percussive grounding leaving Steve, Greg, and Dan to create soulful swaggering rock and roll.
