GWAR's penchant for evil is enough to make any supervillain bang his head and smash a ming vase or two(which may or may not belong to Brian Deegan..)
But GWAR's costumes? Lyrics? Please. Flambuoyance like that is part of the reason I live in a Lair under the Ocean. So to answer your question, I did attend one of their early Virginia shows in 1985, the free will displayed at the concert caused me to fall into a deep anger coma that helped lead me to the pivotal, anti-originality epiphany.
From then on, I focused my attention to more practical muzak (like Devo..the matching jumpsuits give me a robotic smile everytime!).
But if GWAR ever decides to lay into a Shaun White or Brian Deegan dummy in one of their concerts, I might be back on board.
On that note, I'm going to play a GWAR song while poking an X Games voodoo doll. Stay tuned to see what happens..
