Don Adey started playing guitar at the age of 14 years old at Longford park secondary modern High school in Coventry City England soon after moving to California at 15 years old at 16 had his first record contract along with singing partner Fred Lord who he met at Buena Park High school with Doris Days record company Dawin Records Fred's mother would not sign the contract the boys did however record a Larry Williams song "Boney Maronie" a B side to the Sam Cook record "You Send Me" called "Desire Me" and a song Don wrote called "Miss You So" recorded at Revox Studio next door to Lucy Adobie on Melrose in Hollywood its still there to this day Don attended Buena Park high school for two years meeting in his last year Dirk Acree who was in a a band called Johnny English & The Heathans Dirk was playing at Pandora s Box in Hollywood it was after Johnny English left Don was asked to join the band the first gigs they played together were the Pasadena Civic Auditorium and the Hollywood Pallaidium opening up for The Dave Clark 5 and Donovan they played up and down the coast of California and played Count Down 65 (Battle Of The Bands) at the Sea Witch,The Galaxy,The Olympic Auditorium the Ascot Raceway and The Johnson Theater in Palm Springs The next band Don was in a band called The Posse the manager of the band owned Kay Kayley Music store in Buena Park so they had all the gear they needed a lot of Vox amps (more to come) From his Book "OFF WITH THE WINKLE PICKERS ON WITH THE SHORTS" (not yet published) .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ........Check out my new cube!......Get my cube.. or ..Create your own....
