The Doobs, as you may have already figured out happened by mistake. They have been happening by mistake for almost 2 years now and it would seem there is nothing anyone can do to get them to stop. Formed by two thirds of the punk trio Doob Bully, The Doobs were created when 1 of their many drummers was unable to attend a rehersal, without the third member (he he member) the remaining two decided to rehearse anyway, and see how many songs they could write and record in two hours. The outcome was 14 songs, many of which made up the first album. Their approach to music has hardly changed, they have however secured the services of an armless wicker drummer named Rick Wicker who completes their line up. The lyrics are tasteless, the music diverse, the goal, to secure some laughs at their own expense. Over the last 18 months the band has recorded five albums. These are now available for free download at www.thedoobs.co.uk. Work is now very much underway for number 6.
May 30th 2006 was a sad day for the Doobs, as Broon left the country, he is now living in Paris. This will obvioulsy make things more difficult for the band to record, however they plan to continue recording as often as possible. The Doobs live!
2007: after a year of relative silence, the Doobs finally release their TENTH recording, it took over 2 years to finish but it was worth the wait, it is by far the best release so far and it is, as always, available for free via www.thedoobs.co.uk. With plans for two more ep's before the end of the year (one of which will be their annual Christmas release) and POSSIBLY a live album at the beginning of 2008 they are showing no signs of slowing down despite the fact they now live in different countries!! The Doobs love you!
