This female fronted rock band formed in 2006. Taking their time to find their sound, they started gigging on the London circuit later that year, with a headlining spot at the Comedy Pub, Leicester Sq.
Putting on live shows that get the crowd moving, they play an energetic, revamped flavour of garage rock music. Currently gigging 1-2 times a month at well known venues across the city: The Good Ship, the White Horse, Bull & Gate, the Grovesnor, Lark In The Park, The Dublin Castle, SavFest 07, the Pleasure Unit and the Brixton Jamm, The Hope & Anchor and The Arts Theatre, Soho plus more.
With their first EP “Killer Heartbeats” having just been uploaded on here they are now ready to begin the management hunt.
Press so far:
Seen in the NME (25 Sep 07 issue) “Unsigned bands special” section & a Live review in London TourDates (Aug/Sept 07).
What they say:
NME: “these Londoners are the cruellest unsigned outfit around”.
London TourDates: “bluesy garage rock that mesmerised those that made the journey to Kilburn - I suspect The Double Sixers will soon be playing venues where bouncers and
barriers will protect them from their growing audience”
Bugbear promotions: “Stripped down rocknroll with a White Stripe emblazoned.”
John @ The Good Ship: “Female fronted band with an energetic, vintage garage rock sound, growing in confidence and stature with each performance.”
From a few of the Fans -
Bestselling US Author, Scott Sigler: “Love your band! Where can I order a CD?”
US host of the Bitterest Pill Podcast show, Dan klass:
“you’re sounding great. Love the new tunes. KEEP ON ROCKING! Let me know where I can get some Double Sixers!”
Amie N aka V*inyl bird: “I love red shoes so much, it now has 5 *’s in my iTunes”
Ryan B: “You guys are tearing up the stagnant London scene at the moment! Keep smashing things up!!”
Oli Dunster: “These cats are the pulse of London, on the cutting edge of garage rock that makes you lose a night, dancing it away”
