.. The Down Beets have been described as a bluegrass"ish", neo-grass, old-timey, Americana quartet from Santa Cruz. Whatever the genre of music, these young locals have a blend that few groups do. The band is made up of twin pickers Jeremy and Jason Lampel, formerly of Strungover, on mandolin and banjo; Mike Luke, former bassist for Bloodshot recoding artists, Moonshine Willy; and Sheila Golden doing the primary crooning and guitar. This group promises to provide a foot-stompin background for any good drinking and dancing crowd.
