the downz are freaking awesome.
The band started out in montreal, in a giantic, crumbling apartment in the east plateau, out past parc lafontaine. The fixtures were all falling off the wall and the french guys who lived in it before left a couple closet's worth of crap, shitty clothes and broken furniture. There was a whole spare room, just for the band and we played loud enough to piss the neighbors off every time. Sometimes, they'd call the cops and they'd always stare at us hard when we were riding on the same bus with them. Once, right before one of the bands only shows in the city, the downstairs neighbor came up with a butcherknife, screaming about how he'd just had a root canal and if we didn't stop practicing, he'd execute every motherfucking last one of us.
Once we finished school, a few of us were called to California, that godforsaken place, where we met up with Qrixs, dressed as a yeti, and ish got really crazy. We nastied up every party we played, made believers speak in tongues until they passed out, screaming for they lord and saviour, shaking like the earth was quaking, we rocked people like that, i'm saying, yo, the downz are freaking awesome.
My vision of the downz in the future has us looking like weathered cowboys, orbiting the moon in a luxurious space station, knocking back whiskey shots, writing stories and curing cancer. Or just lounging with our people, drinking the nectar of the gods, looking at stars from a little closer in. I can't believe how baddass that's gonna be. Listen to the downz or don't, but if you don't, you're freaking missing out on something dope and I feel genuinely sorry for you, you fucking tool. Because, come on, seriously, i mean, come on, it's the downz! Don't get it shredded up like parmesan, the downz are moldy like french cheese and twice as pungent.
Wow! Really short notice... It's April 8th (I haven't been on for a few days 'cause of a family affair). Thanks for asking, though... I would have totally gone. Keep me in mind for the FUTURE!!!!! (the word future has an echo 'cause it's so damn cool....)
Thanx for the friend request and the interest in our music... If y'all get a chance, and so feel inclined to do so, pass it to someone else deserving. Holler... at the sky.
