Ken Clark wrote all of the songs for The Drakes first CD. Ken's compositions are musical short stories peopled by an odd array of characters confronting the bizarreness of ordinary life. His music has been compared to Warren Zevon, Steve Earl and The 13th Floor Elevators. Also, he has written the music for two musical comedy plays which have been produced in the southeast and he is currently working a third one with long time collaborator John Williams. Included with a mostly solo career Ken has played in The B Side Band and The Unthinkable.

Rick Fowler has been playing guitar in bands since the age of twelve.
Fowler's band Fortnox signed with Epic records. The song Storm Inside My Head went to number 44 in US Airplay and the band's video reached the top 20 on MTV. Fortnox toured the US and Canada non-stop for about a year in support of the record, headlining clubs and music theatres and opening larger concerts and stadium shows with Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, The Ramones, Pat Benetar, George Thorogood, and a number of other top acts of the time. Fortnox also appeared on the CBS Records Ticket To Rock album with Ozzy Osbourne, Aldo Nova, REO Speedwagon, Randy Meisner, Paul Carrack, and others. Later Rick put together a band of well-known musicians to perform the first rock concert benefit for Tourette syndrome awareness. Bill Berry, who was at the time retiring from the mega-star band R.E.M., made the show his farewell performance, allowing his drums to be auctioned off at the end of the night. Randall Bramblett from the band Traffic performed as did many other internationally-known musicians. All funds were donated to the TSA Georgia Chapter. The event received international coverage including MTV, CNN, VH-1, AOL, Rolling Stone, Spin Magazine, and a number of other music news outlets.
Rick has recently signed with Jammates Records and just finished the CD “Back On My Good Foot” due for release in early 2008. He appears with The Drakes courtesy of Jammates Records.
Dr. John Williams has played percussion in a series of bands in the last twenty years or so. John is also a writer who has penned several musical comedies and published a novel “Lake Moon”.
Sherry Joyce began singing professionally at the age of six and has recorded with such artist as ex-R.E.M. drummer Bill Berry, blues guitarist Rick Fowler and many more artists. She is currently recording four songs for an upcoming compilation CD called "Northern Exposure" to be released in Canada. Also, Sherry just finished recording the soundtrack to the stage musical "The Kelly's Truck Stop Bop" in which the song "Dreams" can be heard at her website.
William Tonks has been playing guitar for about 30 years. He picked up the dobro at age 29 and is accomplished singer-songwriter. Williams bands include the following: The Cutter Travis Band, Penguin Lust, Wolfgang, Gravity Creeps, The Sunspots, Redneck Greece De-lux, Marlee Macleod and the Lonesome Choir, HorseFeathers, The Hot Burritos, Barbara Cue, The Workhorses of the Entertainment/Recreational Industry
