Sleek, sexy, thoroughly unique, and undeniably rock, N.E. Pennsylvania based rock group The Drama Club has been creating a spectacle that is nothing short of drama!
The Drama Club’s lead singer and primary composer Nick Coyle is widely acknowledged as one gifted “angelic” vocalist and has inspired many songwriters. The Drama Club is no stranger to the challenges and triumphs of building a musical career, various members have been involved with successful label/touring projects.
In 2006, Coyle formed the group after leaving the Chicago-based outfit Widescreen, which featured former members of Filter. The band recently finalized their line-up after going through various member commotions after picking key players out of the regions best bands to form this “super group”.
Producer Rob Caggiano, famous for his work with Anthrax/Jesse Malin heard some of the bands early demos and immediately flew out to Pennsylvania to see the band live and eventually produced the band along with Jay Baumgardner (Evanescence/Papa Roach/Godsmack) and Paul Logus mixing the songs. This effort has led to the band signing up with F.O.F./EMI Music, which have since released their self titled EP and will be gearing up for their debut album coming summer 2009.
The EP features the blistering lead single “November”, already one of the top songs on Sirius radio’s “Octane” channel and anthem like follow up, “Brand New Day” which features hometown friend Ben Burnley of Breaking Benjamin. "Early research on ‘Brand New Day’ and ‘November’ are showing signs that these songs are a hit on AOL Radio” states Peter Schiecke (AOL Senior Programming Manager).
An exceptional live band, The Drama Club stand among the top “draws” in their region and have become increasingly more popular after continuous national and regional touring and being a promotional machine for themselves. Over the past several years the band has toured and shared the stage with Breaking Benjamin, Saving Abel, Candlebox, Cold, Velvet Revolver, Semi Precious Weapons, Hoobastank, Flyleaf, Halestorm, Sound The Alarm, Silvertide, Leo, City Sleeps, and others. The band has also been profiled and featured in Metal Edge, Purevolume, Melodic.net, and various other media outlets.
