In 2006 Singer/Songwriter-Producer Arno Guveau (producer of Stevie Ann, Rowwen Hèze, Louise Latham) founded The Dreamstealers.
As the backing band of Stevie Ann, Arno, Len and Cool decided to meet up for a rehearsal session to see what they could bring to Arno’s songs. The session proved to be very successful, playing bluesy tunes with the guidance of an old drumcomputer. Arno decided to bring in his old busking kit which he used in the London Underground as a busker. One thing was clear from that moment on: Rhythm & Blues was back!
A combination of Pop, Blues and Rock & Roll is present in the Dreamstealers groovy repertoire. Len David, the youngster of the band, has had a very big influence on the songs by adding outstanding parts and arrangements to them. Len and Arno played together as a duo since March 2005. When a bassist was needed they decided to ask Cool van Dam who already changed the piano for the bassguitar in Stevie Ann’s band. Cool’s a bassist who has a very earthy, mature bass sound and he fitted right in.
Their debut album was recorded in just two days. What you get is a real live sound with hardly any overdubs and chemistry in the music that most records lack. Nowadays most record companies want bands and artists to adjust their music to the MTV standards so real truthful music has drifted away from its native roots.
One of the policies of the Be to Be label, which Arno founded in 2003, is to bring music back to where it belongs: Straigt into the streets, houses and the hearts of people.
