Jan and Wilma Turkenburg know each other for over 20 years now. They stalked the streets of The Netherlands and Belgium as buskers, between 1990 and 2000 and played for charity foundations and in hospitals. Meanwhile they got married. Jan is a part time music teacher, part time songwriter/composer. Wilma is a part time creative therapist for adults with a mental handicap.
From singing Dutch comical songs and folksongs they've shifted towards recording more experimental music. "Wooden shoes in Tirol" was recently used in episode 11 (third season) of the popular TV series "Weeds".
HURRAY! Great to see you here! The Drifting Boulders version of Camille Saint-Saƫns "Aquarium" is moving and tender, and "Wooden Shoes in Tirol" is great carnival fun, sexy and yet wholesome. We at the Oddio House wish The Drifting Boulders all the best and look forward to hearing new work. Cheers to De Zwervende Keien!
