In the late seventies, when all sorts of quacks were trying all
sorts of different crap to try and psychoanalyse the nation’s youth, two young brothers with a
history of audio crime and substance abuse were put forward by their now missing parents for a very
cutting edge experiment in The Drumlake School, Hampshire, England. The ethos of this irresponsibly
revolutionary school was to let children find their own level of drug intake, for the best and strongest
drugs to be readily available in the hope that they would just ‘get a bit bored with it’.
When the government closed the project in the early eighties
the brothers were parted, largely thanks to a particularly strong batch of acid that had surfaced a week
earlier. It is thought Jon, believed to be around 10 at the time, fled to mainland Europe where he lived
the luxurious existence of a travelling monkey salesman. Jamie, thought be around the age of seven at
the schools closing, was recruited for a government ‘black project’ which he has absolutely
no recollection of, there are several ‘trigger words’ that can him send off for days at a
time and upon his return he has little or no explanation of his whereabouts.
Cut to just after the millennium and by a strange twist of
fate Jon and Jamie both return to their hometown in North Wales , neither even aware he has a brother.
They meet by chance one night in a local drinking hovel, they instantly recognise each other through all
the drugs, government mind control and drugs. The obvious thing they thought of doing was banding
together with a like minded bunch of cunts and getting themselves a big house to live in.
With house acquired and Christmas just around the corner Jon
decided to go and find Dad and ask him to ask Santa for a sampler, Jamie asked for, and got, a SNES.
Jon and Jamie locked themselves away and set about
experimenting with the sampler and Our First Computer, after a few months the vibrations had seeped out
through the matrix enough for the Drumlake boys to have been heard in Liverpool and the lads from Disted
Twisco offered Jamie and Jonny a live set, although they couldn’t decide on Jamie and Jonny or
Jonny and Jamie, so the Drumlake Experiment was born. Plus the name Quiverpidgeon was a bit shit.
This is what the boys have to say about themselves
Hi We are The Drugcake Excrement. We are like music. .I am Jon
and my brother is Jamie. We first got playstation wif music 2000 and made tunes and with tunes made
songs. Then me and Jamie told r parents that we want a sampler. Then after much talk we decidered santa
could afford it and broght it us.
We started to sneek out and play gigs at night bein stowaways
on trains to Liverpool and other strange towns with beer and drugs
