Dictionaries define “the dt’s” as slang for a delusional state with tremors after a long bout of drinking. In other words, the worst is about over and you’re about to be sober. In this music group, it’s about starting over.
The “D” & “T” in the name stand for Darren and Tom. Darren Hurst and Tom Rouse are both singer/songwriters who have had their own music careers before joining forces. They met in the fall of 2007 and gradually started working together as a duo. They’ve both been writing songs for several years now. As accomplished, but as yet unpublished songwriters, they still work for the day that the right person hears their music.
With drummer “Supa” Dave McAlpine, bassist Rob d., and lead guitarist Rusty Miller they’ve become one of the most popular local bands on the local Mobile music scene. In November of 2009, Darren was almost taken out by a horrible automobile accident. After several months of hard work and persistence, Darren has made his way back to being able to perform again. The band has also been working diligently with him to make his way back.
They didn’t know when that first paragraph was written almost 2 years ago, how meaningful it would eventually be. Now, The DT’s are back and ready to rock!!! You’re gonna hear your favorite Southern Rock, Blues & Country tunes with a few of Darren & Tom’s originals thrown in the mix.
Sit back or get up on your feet and dance, but either way, hang on...IT’S GONNA BE A WILD RIDE!!!!
