About me:
The Duke Mitchell Film Club
A Free Cult Film Night In the Heart Of Kings Cross, London
Next Night: Monday 28th July 2008
Hullabaloo Night
Doors open at 7.00 p.m. Films start at 8.00 p.m...
July is Hullabaloo Night at The Duke as we pay tribute to all those great showmen of cinema, those classic hucksters and tricksters who would come up with any fun, daft and sometimes just bizarre gimmicks to get you into the cinema. Yes we're talking 3D, smell-o-vision, space-vision and much, much more.
Our main feature is the 1991 horror thriller "Popcorn", a lovingly bloody tribute to those day of cinematic ballyhoo, which finds a twisted killer stalking the back corridors of a cinema during a night of horror films. Each victim is dispatched in a way that matches the tricks being pulled in the cinema that night!
We've also got all our regular fun for the evening, including an all Hullabaloo edition of our regular Trailer Trash, for which we dug straight through the very bottom of our barrel to find the most outlandish gimmick trailers ever created. They'll also be an outrageous short, trashy music and some stunning wonders in our regular poster gallery, and it's all free!
Date for your diary: August Duke Night will be TUESDAY 19th AUGUST!!!
FREE ENTRY!!!
Got a short film, or even a feature, that you'd like to see play our little shindig? We'll we'd love to take a look at it, so just drop The Duke a line via this page and we can get things happening!..
All the fun takes place at: The Cross Kings, 126 York Way, London, N1 0AX (0207 278 8318)
Nearest Tube Is: Kings Cross
