The new album "COARSEGOLD" was released on April 10th thru Turn Records!
"Not since American Music Club released California in 1988 has a band tapped so potently into a type of sound that tastes good with liquor but can also make you drunk with melancholy even if you're on the straight and narrow." -Johnny Ray Huston, San Francisco Bay Guardian featured article
The members of The Dying Californian have been making music together in different forms for nearly half their lives. They are in the midst of recording the follow up to 2003's "We Are the Birds That Stay". Now they are out of the midst and it's finally out. Hey, check out new member Liam Nelson twirling the knobs and his hair, the coquettish sod. And lookit Aaron Schurk keepin your warehouse from burning down. Oh man. Along with lots of friends and family members backing them up (there's one behind that one and another one behind that one and another one behind that one), they hope to, at the end of the day, fulfill their wildest scenarios.

Im up and runnn , I cant be stopped now . The tee pee is still erect and i found a beer n the orchard and drank it , tasted like the corn dogs at the fair . Hope to see you soon , I need to shake my legs out .
I dig your songs. I really like the slow build of my heaven... it's a great payoff four minutes in when a new chord change hits and the drums pick up a notch. Cool stuff. Sorry to hear about your gear. Every band's worst nightmare... I hope it works out. Rock on.
Thank you for posting "Second Shadow." I absolutely love that song, from Coarsegold; the album every wanna be scenester should own.
Speaking of Coarsegold, when are you guys going to leave the west coast and make another trip to the midwest... you know like Wichita? Hell I'll travel up to eight hours to see you guys. I might even go as far as to stalk you guys for a few days. You know buy a VW bus, stop showering and grow an al Queda beard.
