"Not since American Music Club released California in 1988 has a band tapped so potently into a type of sound that tastes good with liquor but can also make you drunk with melancholy even if you're on the straight and narrow." -Johnny Ray Huston, San Francisco Bay Guardian featured article
The members of The Dying Californian have been making music together in different forms for nearly half their lives. They are in the midst of recording the follow up to 2003's "We Are the Birds That Stay". Now they are out of the midst and it's finally out. Hey, check out new member Liam Nelson twirling the knobs and his hair, the coquettish sod. And lookit Aaron Schurk keepin your warehouse from burning down. Oh man. Along with lots of friends and family members backing them up (there's one behind that one and another one behind that one and another one behind that one), they hope to, at the end of the day, fulfill their wildest scenarios.
