The History:
Growing up in the Deep South Texas, the four band members have been performing together for over 17 years. They moved to Austin, Texas’ "Live Music Capital of the World", in the early 90’s to experience the music scene. As ’Rocinante’ the band played within the Austin "jam scene" at venues such as The White Rabbit, Black Cat Lounge, Bates Motel and Steamboat (on 6th) among many others. After moving away from a vocal-centered and radio-friendly approach, the band began following a more instrumental path. This mindset allowed each member to more fully explore their musical potential and acquire a positive creative growth as a band. After taking a year off in 1999, the band regrouped in early 2000 to become known as The Earthtone Players.
The Present:
The Earthtone Players bring a fresh sensation of revamped, retro rock & roll from the late 60’s/early 70’s, to the world of music today. Melodic guitars with warm tone, buzzing bass and dynamic backbeat drumming form the lustrous musical textures. Simple to complex improvisations produced into tight and unique song compositions without following any "traditional" song structure, has been significant in The Earthtone Players’ evolution. Essentially, The Earthtone Players are a potent blend of soulful and honest vocal-oriented rock & roll with a temperate Southern feel and unique hooks.
Hi ETP Welcome to the family of friends ! Wanted to invite you and all your friends to have a listen to a few tracks from my new solo cd "AT THE SPEED OF LIFE..."
Hey ETP hooligans....ya'll come on down tomorrow night for this showcase if possible....luv to see ya'll...I'll be working with Sabbath Crow show at 10pm....all to benefit Baxter's family. Leon Psychodaddy
Hey Buckaroos....absolutely enjoyed the show w/ ya'll on Saturday....yeah one of life's pleasure is sharing the stage with you bad ass pickers. Great sonics....the bass-drum-guitars-vocal pulse is as clean and punchy as it gets....of course, the jazz influenced riffing was STELLAR....we're still buzzin' about those tunes....makes me want to re-visit the woodshed for some brush-up. However, the most pleasurable aspect is ya'll sense of MELODY coupled with the "in yer face" sonic push....a rare musical feat in this day of overdriven distorted sonic mush....in my humble opinion, this is what sets ya'll apart and certainly raises the performance bar. The years of hard work and psychic interplay ya'll have developed is par excellante....and that's no bull crap prop....rarely do we get the opportunity to share the stage with such a "collective force"....and ya'll make it look so damn easy....smooth as butter on a hot rock. Hope to do it again soon Buckaroos. Happy Birthday Kris. Ya'll keep the tunes coming. Here's to ya'll. Respectfully, Leon Psychodaddy and all in TRASH ROCKETS
GOOD SHOW GENTLEMEN AND BELIEVE ME IT WAS A PLEASURE JAMMIN WITH SUCH TALENTED MUSICIANS! JUST GET RID OF THE DRUMMER! HA! IMPRESSIVE SHOW....IT WAS COOL HANGIN WITH YOU FOOLS AGAIN! I JUST HOPE IT'S NOT ANOTHER YEAR THAT WE CAN DO THIS AGAIN! OH YEA, WHY THE HELL ISN'T ZANCUDO ON YOUR TOP FRIENDS LIST? HM? REMEMBUH TO PUT THE CHANGE ON THAH TABLE! myspace. com/zancudoband
Whew just now catchin' up....just stoppin' by to tell ya'll it was not only an honor but, once again, X-treme pleasure to share the stage with you bad to the bone players. All the T-Rocket hooligans are still a-buzz about the continued depth, scope and imagery of your top shelf sonics....ya'll set the bar high my friends. Some of the tightest guitar work and lock-step bass/drums in ATX in our hunble opinion.....and those Lil Morts on the show....wow, icing on the sonic cake. Be warned, we hope to make the ya'll's Ego's show with Full Stride....we'll be spreadin' the word. (We're going to warm Full Stride up at Hanovers on that Friday, Feb. 22 along with our friends Velvet Brick and Butcherwhite....always a barn burnin' time.) Again, we know that you know...."it's about the music"....keep it comin'. Respectfully, Trash Rockets
That was a fucking spectacle last night gentlemen. I will be in attendance at Ego's...bring your drinking boots and expect liquid debauchery served up in a shot glass. I want to introduce you to a new drink of personal invention, I like to call it the bong water.
TONIGHT: Earthtone Players @ NUNO’s 8pm...one of ATX's best...open the head with a burger, a Shiner, electric blues and some of ATX's finest sonics.....mayhem starts at 8pm....ummmm, can ya feel the power....after hearing The Earthtone Players you'll take up snake handling....guaranteed.
