Thank you to our friend Greg "Flow" Towery At Rooftop Productions in Lansing, MI for his help and dedication!
After a year and a half, The Eastern Block
has played it's final show
January 26th at Mac's Bar
which was very special, very drunk.
Thank you to everybody who came out
to say goodbye and wish us well.
We have the fondest of memories from The Eastern Block.
To all the bands that we've played with,
all the bars we've played in, all our friends, family
and everyone who's come out to see us...
Thank you, we will miss you all!
Our good friend and lead guitarist
Knuckles (Matt) has moved to the
Portland, Oregon area. His long-time girlfriend
Sarah, recently completed her PhD
and has accepted a job out there.
We are sad to see the end of The Eastern Block
but we are even sadder to see
one of our best friends move to the opposite
side of the country. There are absolutely NO
hard feelings, and we will truly miss our brother.
The remaining three of us will eventually
be back in the scene, but we have no
intention of keeping The Block alive without
one of the founding members. It started as
the brainchild of 4 close friends, and we
feel pleased with what we've done with it.
The Eastern Block consists of long time friends and some former members of both the rockin' Eight Ball Grifter and the furious Fightin' Hellfish. Forming in the summer of 2005, the band originally formed to play one show just for kicks...
Since then, we've had so much fun, that we decided to take it on the road...
We play songs about Rock N Roll, Women, Our Roots, Alcohol, Family, Old Friends, and Monkey Nuts. With two Polish brothers, a Macedonian and a Czech, the band was proudly named... The Eastern Block.
On Thursday, December 27th at 7:00 we would love for you to join us at Marvelanes in East Lansing. $10 will get you three games of bowling and shoe rental. The event will be family friendly and is not limited to just 1992 classmates. Bring your spouse, kids, friends, significant others, or whomever wants to show off their bowling skills. A portion of all profits will go into a savings account for Oscar's son. Tickets available at the door.
After you posted that bulletin about being in the LSJ,I looked up the article online.
Here is the link, for other out of towners who can't get a Lansing State Journal:
