A Little Bit About The Eccentric One His has been a life of overcoming obstacles put in his path; yet for UPW trainee/wrestler Kent Wilson, this has only served as a motivating force. The Southern California native, who has enjoyed many rich experiences has also faced adversities that severely threatened his future progress . Yet the direction has always continued to be upward; as it is now, making him one of the most promising new Ultimate University talents.
Raised in Lake Arrowhead and then in Torrance, Kent early on became a wrestling fan when at the age of 6, he recalls turning on a match with Hulk Hogan facing the Masked Superstar, and immediately becoming hooked on the sport. “During that match my brother and I saw Hulk constantly trying to fight back against his dirty opponent and soon we were screaming at the TV, ‘Rip off his mask! Rip off his mask!’ When it ended, my brother and I were dropping elbows and leg kicks on each other all over the living room. Looking back now we probably could have killed each other!”
Joining UPW in February 2004, Kent Wilson was trained by some very distinguished names within the wrestling industry. Wrestlers such as Aaron Aguilera, Keiji Sakoda, Tom Howard, Frankie Kazarian, Bill Demott, Chris Hero, Adam Pearce, and a pair of brothers he holds in high regard and views as his mentors, Canada's own Ballard Brothers, Shannon and Shane Ballard. These trainers taught Wilson the tricks of the trade and through their patience and persistence, Kent became a solid worker amongst his peers.
His list of fellow classmates is just as colorful as his instructors and even more well renown. Kent had the ability to learn and work with the likes of WWE superstars Rob Van Dam, John Cena, Chavo Guerrero Jr., Chris Masters, Chris Jericho, and many others. As great of an experience as these were, his favorite classmates to wrestle and train with were people such as Ryan Owen (aka-Evan Jellik), Mark Fujita (aka-Hop Sing Lee), Mark Wertzberger (aka-Nikki Slater), Mo Anouti (aka-Dante), Kevin Martenson (aka-Johnny Goodtime), Oliver John, Tommy Williams (aka-Tommy Kim), Rick & Darold.
During his training, Kent's more colorful side of his personality came out and began to form into what is now know as his alter ego, the eccentric lion. Not being the biggest man on the roster or the smallest, Kent relys on short burst impact attacks and focused momentum power moves. The constant thinker in the ring, he bides his time until the opponent makes a mistake. When that time comes, he pounces into action with unrelenting fury.
You can catch the Eccentric Lion, Kent Wilson wrestling for the indy promotions found throughout Southern California and now Las Vegas with his own company and wrestling television show titled, "Adrenaline Unleashed - Pro Wrestling Surge."
Remember this one bit of advice: "If you kick a lion in the ass, you better have a plan for dealing with its teeth!"
The Eccentric Lion was the amateur DJ on December 17, 2006 and was the final guest amateur host for 2006. You can hear what took place in the studio when the Eccentric Lion took on the Xtreme Rock Radio staff, Madman Mahoney, Happening Handsome Hambone, and the Kove-Dog (Pauly). The show was a blast and I had a lot of fun doing it!
After Woo-Che's I started to feel a little funny. I blanked out and I don't remember a thing that happened. I woke up a few hours later in a liter box with a tail attached to my ass, cat ears on my head, and my clothes all ripped up.
What's crackin?!! It that your signature move? Well, you should bring back the Boston Crab!...my favorite submission move that I think should be used in the UFC! LOL
