Bio
New Years Eve/ New years day 2003/2004;.. Pete and Macca met by chance in a bar in Rotherham. Both had heard recordings of songs from each others previous bands and the conversation quickly turned to music. That night they decided to start a band together and involve Pete's twin brother Frank on drums and to try and write together. Many of the songs came together in the following few week..... April 2004;.. Recorded an acoustic version of "Comin' down" which is featured on the "What happened today" EP, the only song not written by a member of the band and was written by a mutual friend Keith Jones. The song was laid down on an eight-track porta studio in one day at the bass player's house, with various parts being written as they were recorded. The song proved unexpectedly popular at unplugged nights and it was decided that it should be added to the EP..... July 2004;.. The band's search for a lead guitarist ended with the addition of Lex, previously in Macca's 1st band and in Pete's previous band. Lex added a strong rock and blues influence that helped to develop the band's songs and gave them a different dimension and a fuller live sound..... August 2004;.. Theech record there 1st EP at Sight and Sound studios entitled What happened today.... November 2004;.. Theech have their 1st ever song played on the radio. The track Nam 71 from the EP What happened today caught the ear of a local DJ and was played on his evening show the New music file on Dearne FM..... February 2005;.. Theechs 1st live radio performance on York University Radio. They played two acoustic versions of tracks from the EP..... August 2005;.. Theech spent time in a cabin in Scotland to write new material and work on existing songs to produce their next EP..... Directly after Scotland the band booked some studio time and recorded their second EP Back to the Drawing Board..... March 2006;.. Back in the studio working on revamping some original songs and acoustic tracks..... May 2006;.. Finshed in the studio nicknamed the P'spective seesions as lex could not for the life of him pronouce perspective in the 'usual ending'. We now have 12 up to date songs and will be popping each one on here for you guys to listen to..... Heres a rough vid from the Arches gig to wet your taste buds if you dint get chance to see us. we will be getting a proper dvd later on made of that gig and will pop it on as soon as. enjoy!.... ..THEECH at the Arches...... .. .. .. .. ......Add to My Profile.. | ..
