The Eclectic Company is a creative think-tank established in 2005 to support
SoCal arts by organizing events that bring various artistic mediums together.
With the cooperation of the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art (OCCCA),
the Eclectic Company has produced such events as First
Friday Films, free independent
and rare movie screenings every first friday of the month as well as the Experimental
Music Concert Series to be held through the summer. The Eclectic Company welcomes
working with artists and musicians whose work does not align well with the
established gallery and venue system by providing a network of alternative
venues. These venues have in the past included rooftops, private residences,
abandoned warehouses and established venues open for new and independent performances.
Note: We've taken our concerts through summer and right into whatever winter is in southern california. Thanks to the continued support of OCCCA, The Eclectic Company has a semi-perminant home. We have been so lucky to support some amazing performances in the last couple of months.

Video documentation of a performance piece by my friend Nate Kassel who rode around on his bike slapping high-fives to people who were trying to hail taxi cabs in NYC. Enjoy!

Here is artist Rochelle Brown's attempt at a Rembrandt reproduction
Rembrandt
In your eyes I see a love of painting, your brush strokes bring to life grandmother's pleading eyes. My child, my child it really is you that I see. In Rembrandt's eyes a wishing well, the best the deepest wish that ever could be...

Most auspicious greetings & blessings to you, Eclectic Company. We want to let you know that we are recovering well from our injuries. A few days ago, we were having lunch in a nearby pub & became involved in some kind of riot. Some big brawly guy with a wild & scruffy beard came in wearing a wedding dress. It didn’t take long for some drunken guy to make some snide remark. A heated exchange escalated rapidly. Before you know it, bar stools were being flung & smashed up against chins, backs, & knees. In the ensuing chaos, our friend, Frank, lost his left ear. It was torn off by one of the brawlers. At the hospital, the doctor told us that before his ear could be reattached it would first have to be properly re-nourished. The doctor recommended sewing the ear to Frank’s stomach, where it would receive needed nutrients. The surgery was supposed to take place the next day, but it didn’t happen. The doctor was eating Chinese food as he drove home that night when an egg roll became lodged in his throat. While choking on the egg roll, the doctor lost control of his Bentley, knocked out a couple of fire hydrants, before being t-boned by a train. When the doctor’s body was removed from the car it was discovered that he was naked from the waist down. His wife later confirmed he preferred to drive that way. You are beautiful & you deserve to be happy. Thank you for listening. Thank you for being a friend.
