The Eclectic Company is a creative think-tank established in 2005 to support
SoCal arts by organizing events that bring various artistic mediums together.
With the cooperation of the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art (OCCCA),
the Eclectic Company has produced such events as First
Friday Films, free independent
and rare movie screenings every first friday of the month as well as the Experimental
Music Concert Series to be held through the summer. The Eclectic Company welcomes
working with artists and musicians whose work does not align well with the
established gallery and venue system by providing a network of alternative
venues. These venues have in the past included rooftops, private residences,
abandoned warehouses and established venues open for new and independent performances.
Note: We've taken our concerts through summer and right into whatever winter is in southern california. Thanks to the continued support of OCCCA, The Eclectic Company has a semi-perminant home. We have been so lucky to support some amazing performances in the last couple of months.
Also for booking and quick response contact stephen, 1st here on top friends list
Who I'd like to meet: travelers, readers, bike pedal pushers, people who can manage to thrash around without really hurting anyone, anyone who can write a song about anything for the amusement of those around them, serious poetic types, all the other not so serious types, experimental artists, musicians and you...we love you.
We're announcing our new business hours: Fridays and Saturdays from 2-7 p.m. if by any chance you're nearby, come in for a visit. Our "harpist in residence" will be playing. Here is artist Rochelle Brown's attempt at a Rembrandt reproduction
Rembrandt In your eyes I see a love of painting, your brush strokes bring to life grandmother's pleading eyes. My child, my child it really is you that I see. In Rembrandt's eyes a wishing well, the best the deepest wish that ever could be...
Most auspicious greetings & blessings to you, Eclectic Company. We want to let you know that we are recovering well from our injuries. A few days ago, we were having lunch in a nearby pub & became involved in some kind of riot. Some big brawly guy with a wild & scruffy beard came in wearing a wedding dress. It didn’t take long for some drunken guy to make some snide remark. A heated exchange escalated rapidly. Before you know it, bar stools were being flung & smashed up against chins, backs, & knees. In the ensuing chaos, our friend, Frank, lost his left ear. It was torn off by one of the brawlers. At the hospital, the doctor told us that before his ear could be reattached it would first have to be properly re-nourished. The doctor recommended sewing the ear to Frank’s stomach, where it would receive needed nutrients. The surgery was supposed to take place the next day, but it didn’t happen. The doctor was eating Chinese food as he drove home that night when an egg roll became lodged in his throat. While choking on the egg roll, the doctor lost control of his Bentley, knocked out a couple of fire hydrants, before being t-boned by a train. When the doctor’s body was removed from the car it was discovered that he was naked from the waist down. His wife later confirmed he preferred to drive that way. You are beautiful & you deserve to be happy. Thank you for listening. Thank you for being a friend.
FOOD DRIVE Tonight! bring a can of food, candybar, or any goodies that needy kids in Baja California will appreciate. Every item you bring will count as $1 that will be applied to the cover charge.
Dear Eklectik We're just getting ready for the artwalk here in Bellingham. If by any chance you're in town we'd love it if you could visit. Here is a painting by our Navajo artist Teddy Draper:
also some very intresting artworks available.
Running Wild Skip and dance, roll and run. Follow that cloud.
My friend is the night, it sings a song of stars. And never stops chasing me through the valley down below.
Dear Eclectic, Thankyou for the ad, stop by our page and say hello. Here is a painting by our artist Rochelle Brown
Northwest Encounter
The women approaches to get a better look at the heron that was so frightened. Her brilliant smile has stunned him. In the mists of the northwest coast at the shore, the San Juan Islands that are in the background are floating.
Hello there, The Eclectic Company! Panic Movement sends greetings and gratitude! The Vernal Equinox is upon us! Let’s celebrate and be merry! We hope you have had a fabulous winter season. Nature is a wondrous and beautiful thing, no? One of the most fascinating things about nature is photosynthesis, the complex process by which plants and Rush Limbaugh (a protozoa common to the Paleolithic period) use energy from sunlight in order to build robots and control the stock market. Gouge out your right eye (Matthew 5:29). Dude! Have you heard about the “Saidaiji Eyo” festival? In Japan, about 9,000 guys in loincloths tussle, brawl, and fight over a couple of pieces of wood which are considered sacred! Now, what we would suggest is that you elevate your legs when resting and rig a live flower beetle with electrodes and a radio receiver. As always, put your hand in the garbage disposal, shove worms into your mouth, and call the police. Have an auspicious spring season! We wish you an abundance of blessings, peace, love, and happiness. The fact is: you are beautiful.
