Since the 80's James has played in Philadelphia area club bands. He has played with ; The Jim Sharp Band, Laura Mann and the Life Boys, and Robert Hazard " Girls just want to have fun". Mike Vogelmann, bass player for the Ed James band was a original member of John Eddie and the Front Street Runner's. Billy Aronson, drummer for the band has played with So Sydney and 25 miles and is no stranger to the area clubs. The Ed James song " Let's get FLYERED UP " a song about the Philadelphia Flyer's hockey team and " 76ers Standing Tall " a song about the Philadelphia 76er's basketball team have received play on local radio stations 610 Wip and Y-100.
